There’s no way this was a “ploy”.

They haven’t really tried because of anti trust. They need buy in from other major players and then they will be successful.

They are also working on ways to let websites cryptographically authenticate a browser. So if they wanted to badly enough, that workaround wouldn’t work.

Google has already talked about a plan to cryptographically authenticate a browser. We likely won’t be able to get around that.

This shit is so obnoxious I’ve started having to use hibernate again.

Potentially my mac does the same thing, but it doesn’t wake itself up stealing monitors, running fans at 100%, and becoming a space heater like the two windows computers I have. If it does wake itself up, then I don’t notice.

Microsoft is at least as shitty. They’re both horrible and I won’t shed a tear for Microsoft.

When a company or person are household names, bad press is bad press. The idea that bad press is good press only applies if people wouldn’t otherwise know about them. If all press was good press, then companies wouldn’t spend huge amounts of money getting good press and burying bad press.

Musk and X would love it if these kinds of stories flew under the radar.

Did they fix it? I don’t see that at all now. It starts at light blue and proceeds to dark blue.

I only remember them for being loose with facts, extra snarky, and full of shallow articles.
