Yeah I don't get why he'd say this if he didn't believe it. People are already marginalized for that position. Maybe he thought he'd get clout and support like some recent country singers but according to Wikipedia he does Rock, which has a fair bit of leftist fans if I'm not mistaken.

That's a fair point, and actually looking at the film's budget, I'm guessing it's because he was a good actor who was so passionate about the issue that he was okay with making the movie for free.

It is quite hilarious watching the elites attempt to manufacture outrage against Angel Studios as a whole because they made one movie that was against child trafficking.

Angel Studios' content is popular because it's at the very least not bad, which isn't something we can say about most Hollywood blockbusters nowadays. Not to mention that they have the goodwill of Hollywood workers, having gained exemptions to resume work on projects such as the upcoming season of The Chosen.
