I think Longines has a shocking number absolute banger watches for the price. Their watches are not upper echelon quality (like e.g. Omega or Rolex) and at the same time they are not exactly cheap (like Seiko, Hamilton, etc.). If you can pay 2k or 3k for a watch that is imho better than it should be for that price (which I think they are - I love Longines), then chances are high you can probably pay 4k or 5k as well in which case you might go for something a bit nicer. I think that puts them in an awkward position in the market, so they are less popular than they should be. Again I think they still have a shocking number of amazing watches that are cheaper than they have any right to be. Many of their watches really match my personal taste, so I like them more than the average watch nerd, I think. I recently bought the Longines Spirit 40mm and I am eye-ing (heh) the Big Eye Titanium for the near future as well.
