I don't know about favorite, but I keep coming back to "If-" by Rudyard Kipling at different points in my life.
The book is (mostly) hard scifi, though one with an emphasis on character development. In contrast, the movie is an unlikely buddy comedy meets scifi. They're very different and while the movie is a faithful adaptation, if the scifi stuff interests you I'd recommend prioritizing the book first.

Insightful comment, thanks. The frustrating part for me is that the media has a tendency to parrot his talking points without directly challenging them in the same breath. That allows his narrative to take hold (especially when it is backed by other members of the government) and steer popular opinion in his favor.
Those two are a shining example of how the Democratic party has enabled the growth of facism in this country. If you stand for nothing but party donors then you become complicit in whatever results from your inaction.
