I’m no expert and new to this sub but I’ve been making music for 10 years and have amassed 2TB of .wav files that I use for music production.

I store these on an 8TB HDD.

The second copy is an automated backup that occurs every morning at 4AM to an 18TB HDD using Veeam Agent (not Backup and Recovery!), which is free!

I am currently working on also backing the 8TB HDD up to the cloud via BackBlaze.

This system works great for me!

i think r/analogcommunity is better suited for this question. this sub cares about the file storage, but that sub cares about the image quality.

Hello,

I am new to this sub but fairly technically literate. I make music and also do videography. Right now, I’m looking to start finally backing things up which is way overdue.

Currently, my setup is: Windows 10 OS, 8 TB WD My Book (HDD), 5 TB WD My Passport (HDD)

And I’m looking to buy this drive this Black Friday: 18 TB WD easystore (HDD)

My music files are all on the 8TB, and all my videos/photography are on the 5TB. I have NO backup locations right now, hence my desire to buy the 18TB drive.

On Windows 10, what is the most surefire way to automate the back-up process for both of these drives to write to the 18 TB? Are there common agreed-upon programs that do this? Does the script exist in Windows already? Is it manually Ctrl+C Ctrl+V files to the 18TB based on a reminder on my phone? (mostly kidding on that last one).

Please help this noob out!

Hi Everyone,

I started offering photography services to my immediate circle for their art projects, modeling endeavors, etc. I am new to this starting only earlier this year.

The question I have for seasoned professionals and semi professionals is: do you keep ALL the photos you take of a given shoot? For example, I shot my friend, and we took maybe 500+ photos during the shoot. We sat down together another day and identified like 60 that she wants sent to her of that shoot (no edits, she’s doing that herself/outsourcing it).

The question is: what the heck do I do with the other 440 photos? I have like 15TB of space, so I can keep all the shots with no issue, but this surely isn’t sustainable forever. I come from an Engineering background where archiving files is the gospel (where I may need access to any given revision at any instant) but this might not be the case once my initial 60 “keepers” were identified and sent.

Thoughts and feedback?
