But Pixelfed just isn't a thing most people know about it seems.

You'd be surprised. I've had several people reach out unprompted and specifically ask about it

Loops and sup started as upgrades to pixelfed and then got spun off.

It's not really a whatsapp alternative. More like a facebook messenger alternative. It replaces and encrypts dms from mastodon, pixelfed, lemmy, etc

Totally did. I'll work on that

That community seems to be about growing communities. Whereas, this community is about migrating people from legacy social.

Shoot, it's very similar. I'll reach out to Blaze and see what they think

EDIT: On rereading, that community seems to be about growing communities. Whereas, this community is about migrating people from legacy social.

This is a community intended to collect resources and build a movement to get people off of legacy social media. If you have some people you'd like to switch over, or are willing to post about Fedi on your old accounts, please come check it out:

If you still have legacy social, agitation over there is doing rounds right now. Unfortunately, there’s significantly fewer of us working to get people onboarded than the last migration. If you still have those accounts, please consider plugging fedi.

It started out as a major upgrade to Pixelfed's dm system and got spun off into it's own thing, same as Loops.

Sepia search is great but it could use some modernizing.

I think they actually just put out a fresh teaser post about it.

[–] spaduf@slrpnk.net 3 points 5 months ago

I feel there are lots but they're all out of date since they're from the last migration.

Doing more fedi posting on reddit. If you're on reddit and don't mind being a fediverse evangelist, please go hit this thread:

But there's not many current users over there to answer them. If you still have a reddit account and are willing to help some folks out, please consider doing so!

From the Article:

It’s hard to think of a time when the Democratic Party was more bereft of real leaders. As the losing presidential candidate, Kamala Harris is not held in warm regard, and her continuing fundraising efforts have added to the irritation. Joe Biden, who accomplished more than his critics give him credit for, is going out on a low note.

Usually, the chair of the Democratic National Committee is a technocrat and not the face of the party. But this time could be different.

A number of names have been mentioned in the press coverage and in self-promotion, but it’s clear that the two finalists will be Ken Martin, 51, Minnesota party chair, and his neighbor, Ben Wikler, 43, who chairs the Wisconsin state party. Both are excellent party-builders, both are substantive progressives, and both have earned wide respect. The election is set for February 1.

From the Article:

For weeks following Joe Biden’s disastrous performance, his campaign publicly maintained the illusion that he was still well-positioned to defeat Donald Trump. Privately, they knew otherwise. As Pod Save America co-host Jon Favreau revealed days after the election:

After the debate, the Biden people told us that the polls were fine, and Biden was still the strongest candidate. They were privately telling reporters, at the time, that Kamala Harris couldn’t win. […] Then we find out, when the Biden campaign becomes the Harris campaign, that the Biden campaign’s own internal polling, at the time when they were telling us he was the strongest candidate, showed that Donald Trump was going to win 400 electoral votes.

The implications of this are staggering, and it should be treated as a massive scandal.
