Hello buddy, think about this:

We drink water from cups, not bowls.

It's already there.

Thank you very much for your comment.

Think about it, you're not spending a lot of money. But you get more exposure and attract a lot of eyeballs?

Thank you very much for your comment.

You are right, I am thinking about how to add value and make users more willing to share content on my platform.

Hello everyone.

Recently I developed a new product called [Product Graveyard], a place to store your precious, abandoned, and failed projects.

Its function is very simple. After registering an account, you can post your product information, including name, introduction, current product's death status (almost dead, dead?), and then fill in your experience and summary of the product. You will then have your own homepage where you can showcase your failed projects to the outside world.

Two days ago, I posted this product on a relevant forum, which aroused sighs of relief and was disliked by various people. for example:

  1. My products are about to be abandoned, why should I still publish them on your platform?

  2. Even if I want to post to your platform, why do you still charge?

  3. Your platform is a fake demand, so let’s take advantage of it.

To be honest, these shocked me. Later, I reorganized and carefully sorted out the product logic.

Develop products -> more and more products -> there will always be products that fail -> don’t want to be forgotten or want to store them somewhere -> product graveyard

I personally think that there should be no problem logically. The key point is to show value to users. So I made the following optimizations:

  1. Modify the hero title of the homepage

It used to be: Kiss your product for the last time, say goodbye to it, and then start over.

Now it is: Brave indies face the death and failure of their products head on, say goodbye to them, and start over.

In comparison, you will find that I emphasized Brave, which I think is an essential quality for an independent developer.

  1. Added renderings

Essentially, this is a social product, so I took a screenshot of the user's personal homepage and put it on the homepage to display it intuitively.

The latest effect is here https://productgraveyard.app/

Again, I will never be discouraged.

Try doing something small first, small goals? This will provide good focus.

After all, not everyone is Steve Jobs, Altman

Hello everyone.

Recently I developed a new product called [Product Graveyard], which is used to store your precious, abandoned, and failed projects.

Its function is very simple. After you register an account, you can publish your product information, including name, introduction, current product's death status (nearly dead, dead?), and then fill in your experience and summary of this product. Then you will have your own homepage where you can display your failed projects to the outside world.

The original intention of making this product is as follows:

  1. Every product is a collection of your unique ideas, which is very meaningful in itself, at least to you.

  2. You put a lot of effort into every product. Although it failed, it deserves to be remembered.

  3. Falling out of love is not terrible. The terrible thing is that you are still in love without a new beginning. The same goes for making products. If a product fails, give it a special ceremony and then start again.

I'm excited about my products and ideas .However, when I showed the product to my friends [from Twitter, social groups], they said it was useless, they said it was a fake need on my part. This hit me so hard that I blocked them and quit the group. I once doubted that what they said was correct.

Later, I reorganized and carefully sorted out the product logic.

Develop products -> There are more and more products -> There are always product failures -> Don’t want to be forgotten or want to store them somewhere -> Product Graveyard

After re-arranging it, I felt that there was no problem with this logic. Then I strengthened my belief and I no longer worried about their ridicule.

When everyone denies you, you must believe in yourself.

Hi everyone, I'm an indie developer.

I recently developed a project called [Product Graveyard], which aims to provide a place for independent developers to store their failed products.

Its function is very simple. After you register an account, you can publish your product information, including name, introduction, current product's death status (nearly dead, dead?), and then fill in your experience and summary of this product. Then you will have your own homepage where you can display your failed projects to the outside world.

My original intention in building this product is this:

1. Each of your products is a collection of your unique ideas, which is very meaningful in itself, at least to you.

2. You put a lot of effort into each of your products. Although it failed, it deserves to be remembered.

3. Falling out of love is not terrible. The terrible thing is that you are still in love without a new beginning. The same goes for making products. If a product fails, give it a special ceremony and then start again.

What makes me sad is that when I showed the product to some friends (from Twitter, social groups), they were not very optimistic about my product. They said it was a product that no one needed.

All I want to ask is, will you find a place to store your failed products?

Hello everyone, I am an independent developer and have developed several projects, but unfortunately, they were not successful and I did not make any money from them.

When I was sad, I thought of one thing. Is there any platform where I can store my failed ideas and products?

I searched the Internet and found that there seems to be no similar product. So I thought, if I could build such an online space to store the failed products and ideas of independent developers.

I hope we can find the meaning of life in death and find a successful path.

Not sure what to think about this idea, I'd like to hear your voice.
