You know how to operate under budgets orders of magnitude larger than you have to spend, achieving good growth on far less money is much much harder.

Put in $110k into a company to hire developers after my cofounder/developer who also happened to be my dad died. Was basically everything I got from life insurance. It all got off the ground, was taking off, multiple clients ready to board on, 1mm in gross revenue coming in, 10mm+ lined up and ready to or already had signed contracts for. Found out one of my business partners was stealing money from the company. Was about a half million he stole out of it. It tanked the company. Still going through lawsuit.

What I took away from is don’t let anyone touch the fucking money. Ever. For any reason. Also if someone is fighting or resisting you in any way about getting you raw finance numbers, the are 100% stealing from the company. Unfortunately not the first time I’ve had someone stealing from the company.

Theres a lot of bad advice in this thread and some stupid advice that comes up a lot that says you should demand payment. Honestly here is a practical way to move forward without wasting resources and take it as a learning experience. Email the editor. Explain the situation and just ask for credit in any future uses of the photo and a correction to any online/social media postings.

In the future, just include a small watermark on the corner if you are going to give them out. Give the band the option to buy the photo(s) for a fee if they want it removed. That way you don’t miss out on credit. Make it a nice watermark too not the shitty ones that try to be center stage, or are laid over the entire image.
