The NBA basically doesn’t respect good on-ball defense. If the defender is moving at all, feet not planted, they will usually call a block, even if the offensive player initiates contact with defenders body, unless an arm is extended. It used to be fair if the defender got to the position first, moving or not. You just had to be in the spot the offensive player was headed to; that’s the entire point of cutting someone off.
