Basically it says one is pursuing a race towards AGI in the shortest possible time horizon in detriment of everything else (including profitability), and the other is doing scientific/financial/economic responsible, sustainable, long term growth.

It's the same old battle of unconditional quarter growth towards infinity vs positioning itself as taking all opportunities to be a leader in a particular field.

This time state capitalism wins big over unrestrained neoliberal capitalism.

No tankies or ultra rights comments please, I won't take the bait. I'm neither citizen of both countries and I want both to stop their imperialism so every other country gets a fair go.

Still sounds easier than fixing old gas plumbing, and again, the current is lower so the wires are not thicker they're thinner.

And I'm certainly not keen on running a big battery that will be next to heat and needs replacement approved by landlord every 3-5 years, plus having to own expensive pans.

What do I know, I never owned electric stove and I don't want one.

What's so hard about 240v since it takes a thinner wire compared to 110v?

I'm considering buying this one next

https://www.ebooks.com/en-co/book/211126328/pliable-truths/dayton-ward/

What does "EPUB (encrypted)" mean?

Also it's much much more expensive than Kobo. 16 AUD with included taxes is 10.60 USD. This book is 13usd and I bet I need to add taxes.

Also Kobo had is 69% off= 5aud.

I subscribed on their web to skip Google tax.

Different compressions under same bit rate can be dramatically different. My favourite was aac 20 years ago. I don't think MP3 evolved significantly in this time frame, I was never a fan.

Well yes but I look at your ruler and I couldn't find any clue if that's centimetres or something retarded like inches. And there's other rulers that are even more retarded.

NVIDIA is producing and delivering GPUs. However this does NOT translate into income, and that's what's making it shady. These companies are paying in shares that will be worth nothing when it pops.

This info may still be present in the files, download them and inspect with any software that displays that kinda info. I'm not proficient in that, I am just a nerd that has done it a decade ago when I was into photography.

My understanding is that really raw phone data also have a lot of lens distortion, and proprietary code written by the camera brand has specific algorithms to undo that effect. And this is the part that phone tinkerers complain is not open source (well, it does lots of other things to the camera too).

I'm having a blast watching Mr maker. My son is now 13yo and we don't watch it anymore, but it's still very fun.

It's interesting that I also thought it was super creative. Maybe it's the lack of sleep when he was a toddler. All that crafting seemed like McGiver stuff.

I'm on track to use my bike every 2 years now. I've got my count down at 726 days.

I just didn't have enough time to get the bike off the lock between work and cooking, while I can start my walk within 60 seconds of stopping working. And that includes unpacking my ukelele for playing while walking. Bikes and ukes don't go along well.

It's probably 2 years since anyone in the house used our bikes.

Tires all flat, but the brakes were still sharp and didn't need re work. But it was funny seeing that my son totally outgrew his bike, we need to get a new one.

We went for one quick test around the block, and no minor adjustments, so we followed up with a 10 minute tour.

Wishing next time will be less than 2 years from now.

Relaxing and challenging. It's in the morning, I wonder if it was in the afternoon, would it be a good prep for sleep time?

Poppy, lettuce and dwarf sunflower.

It's summer here and I hope this time it works. Last half a dozen things I planted never started growing, I think I'm watering the seeds too much.

I think I dropped seeds here many months ago.

Not the first time I see something growing that I don't recognise. I guess we have to settle for what the plants want instead of what I'd like to grow.
