I see that it says compatibility with r740xd but, it does not specifically say r740.

Does anyone have any personal experience with this NDC and a r740, I hope there's not some sort of large difference where this NDC isn't compatible with a non XD model.

Also, I saw some posts from 5+ years ago saying that the Intel x710 chipset was a bit... Finicky? I haven't seen anything that's recent about it though. Does anyone have any experience with issues on the x710 cards?

I am looking to get at least 2x10Gb ports onto my 740 without taking a PCIe slot, I currently have a x520 PCIe card installed but, I need the PCIe slot so my 740 can achieve its final boss form.

TIA!

https://forums.servethehome.com/index.php?threads/brocade-icx-6610-serial-port-pinout.36014/

Is what I first was following but Rx and tx are reversed in that table.

Hi, I followed the cisco Pinot and used a usb to TTL converter. I cut the connector off of a cat6 cable and wired it up to the usb to TTL converter.

I am using 9600 8N1 with no flow control and am getting garbled text from a brocade icx-6610 and also an HPE Poe+ switch. So I am assuming it's something to do with the converter?

I do have an actual cisco rj45 to usb cable coming to test but, I don't understand why I would be getting garbled text, like a bad baudrate setting.

I have tried several baudrates, most give garbled text. I have tx, Rx and gnd hooked up (CTS, RTS isn't needed it says, I did test with them connected but it made no difference) and am using minicom as an emulator.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Brocade icx 6610. Do the fan mod so it's near silent and cool. There are sites dedicated to completely unlocking it's abilities.

Get the 24 (or 48) port PoE 1GbE - 8x 10GbE SFP+ ports and 4x 40GbE QSFP ports (QSFP on the rear). 2 of the 40G ports can be broken down into 8x 10GbE SFP+ ports the other 2 are strictly 40GbE QSFP.

To split the 2 QSFP ports into 8 SFP+, you need to buy 2x QSFP <-> 4x SFP+ cable.

The thing is a beast and quiet after the mod.
