It also substantially raises the "quality" of the low end effort which is a pretty big deal, whether you consider that a good thing or not.

I think it's great for things like a client conceptualizing what they want which in the past could be difficult and very labour/time consuming. Take that concept to a real artist and it's pretty win-win.

Lukewarm take: if the person being pranked doesn't laugh during or immediately following the prank then it's not a prank anymore, it's just being mean to someone. Basically all the things "ruined" as pranks by the current situation fall under this, so it's not really ruined at all.

What messes with me is how many AI videos I've seen that are so similar to dreams. The hallucinations that AI produces are very similar to the ones our brains produce, and that makes me feel like more of a meat computer than usual.

There was an animated movie in 2009 too (it bombed though) and more recently the Pluto anime which I haven't seen but is loosely based off of the manga iirc.

I usually just say something like "look over there!" and sneakily replace the rock they were tasting to the one I want identified

I agree, but certain changes that confuse the language deserve at least a little pushback, especially when it's due to ignorance that the change occurs.

Raises the question. Begs the question is a very different thing.
