ive tried to get nextcloud working several times and it just seems to never work for some reason... maybe i should set it up on a pi ive got laying around instead of my main server lol

seconded. the built-in custom css selection is excellent. ive been strongly considering self-hosting an RSS bridge, but i think my server has too much unpredictable downtime for it

i hate to be that guy but i still cant see why not just use libretube at this point... newpipe has always been just a fair bit too far behind libretube in functionality for me to daily drive it. only reason i can think of is the removing from playlists bug, audio-only streaming bug, or piped inexplicably not working for you since ive heard some people are cursed like that lol. those are still pretty niche though. im honestly curious, what are some reasons you folks have picked one over the other?

articles like this are so weird as an aromantic person. like that's SO beyond off the table already

oh it was kind of buried so i couldn't find it, thank you very much!

I actually just installed this the other day, weird coincidence. It works great though! I've tested it with my personal collection and random music on the radio at public locations.

I just use a Kindle 3 in airplane mode. Closest it's ever come to failing me was the battery going kaput and even then it's easily replaceable. These things last forever, and you can get then for like 25-30 dollars! Just load books on from you computer and enjoy yer reading. Recommend it for sure. Just make sure you pretend it has no internet functionality. (I've looked far and wide and I just cannot find something with the same level of analog functionality as the kindle 3. The physical keyboard is wonderful, and no touch screen is great imo)

thanks for making me aware of this, it's pretty great! the swiping is definitely iffy overall but certainly better than nothing! im mainly just sad that it's missing my beloved proper black and gray holo theme... sad...

ahh, yeah swipe typing is really tough to inplement well without data collection. i used to use it a lot back before i completely degoogled and id be lying if i said i didnt miss it. i honestly just couldn't find any foss keyboards at all that had swipe typing!

I assume you must've tried openboard. What issues did you have with it? The predictions have been more than satisfactory in my experience.

It looks like what they were trying to convey is apparently that it can be a large time and effort commitment that most people don't have the technical expertise to figure out, which is a fairly reasonable argument in some contexts, but I do not think they conveyed it very well and they're being kind of a dick about it in the replies, so idk. I understand the point, but this is NOT the way to get it across.
