Canadian here and continue to be marvelled by an Americans inability to crawl out of their own ass regardless of if they're Democrat or Republican lol

I'm gonna have a drink tonight for this. Here's to making it. The best feeling you can have as a child is hearing from your parents when you've become an adult that they're proud of who you have become.

That at 47 the hardest thing in life was keeping relationships. Everything else is a cakewalk.

I'm a parent. To me it's the same either way. Open dialogue and understanding. You can't shake hands with a closed fist.

Luckily my parents and kids are not insane so haven't had to deal much with this but as an example when Andrew Tate came up in discussion with my kids I explained how he's a disgusting human being and how to judge people through a multitude of criteria such as who is promoting them, what are their interests, who are associated with them, what do they represent, etc.

As a general rule assholes tend to support asshole ideas and surround themselves with other assholes.

If you do promise to be as incredulous as I was when he gave me the ticket. Like man don't you have better shit to be doing? Let's ignore the fact he thankfully didn't see me kicking rear view mirrors a couple of blocks previous because they were parked in the bike lane.

Jesus Christ I was an ornary youth lol

I was drunk and high out of my gourd one night biking home along Bloor Street and got a ticket for speeding lol. This was maybe 2004. I have thankfully matured since then.

Honest question. A little late or using Twitter if you control the bubble people are in maybe the information was suppressed. Maybe to keep the election results how you want them.

And people need to stop giving that 40% a free ride. They also wanted this. Fuck them.

We have the same issue in Ontario where our conservative leader Doug Ford won a majority with like 19% of Ontarians actually voting for him. This means for the majority of Ontarians they were comfortable sitting at home fingering their grandma. So fuck them yes they did want this.

I'll bet you dimes for dollars a racist can tell a black person in America by their name.

[–] whoisearth@lemmy.ca 20 points 1 week ago

We all knew this as did everyone who voted him in. When you look at your neighbours never forget who they are.
