Anyone have any opinions on How to Play video channels when Watch It Played doesn’t have a particular game available?

Just played Regicide for the first time. Damn. That game is vicious!

A great cooperative game played using a standard deck of cards. My wife and I were able to win, but only by cheating like mad: Played with hands face up, and mostly ignoring hand size limit. I realize that's cheating, but we're learning it.

Very fun, but hard. Kind of like Arkham Horror done with a standard deck.

What strategies do you use when playing?

Has it been a consistent hobby since childhood or was there a single game, a mechanism, theme or social situation which hooked you in?

I've been wanting to host game nights at my place, and was hoping to use an old folding table I have since it fits nearly under my couch (I have a small apartment) and, is cheaper than buying a whole new table.

Of course, I can use the table as-is (it's just a standard folding table after all) but I was hoping I could get some ideas on ways to have it better suit tabletop gaming.

Right now my only idea is to get a neoprene mat for the top, but I don't have any good ideas on how to non-destructively adhere it to the top of the table.

Relatives were visiting over the weekend and we played Tsuro with the kids. It's really easy to learn, quick to play, and has some strategy to it.

Just played a game of the original Arkham Horror boardgame from 1987. The game started off by giving us 3 gates to deal with. Finished with the doom track one away from "The end of Arkham". Only one Investigator died and needed to be replaced. Introduced 2 new people to this game (both had played more recent versions).

Does anyone have any experience with this? My wife and I love games and love adventures. We are always looking for new things to do and was wondering what people's experiences are with this. She loves Tarot and this keeps getting recommended to us online. Want to see what people think before we buy it

For the longest time I've been using ScorePal. This app is amazing.

The best functionality is that it has "score sheet templates". These templates that are created by community and can then be used by everyone freely. All you had to do was select the game and fill the score sheet, the app calculates score and winners automatically. Here's a pic from their website

The app also has other goodies such as:

• (Paid) BGG synchronization

• Tons of stats and graphs with metrics such as win-rate

• Nice interface

Unfortunately this app is no longer mantained by the original creator, last update is from 2018. BGG synchronization seems broken, I never find community score sheet templates anymore. I can still create my own scoring templates, it works fine, but the community aspect is gone.

I was wondering what everyone else is using. I've tried a bunch of apps, but I never found an app that is so good at creating custom scoring templates as ScorePal. I'd like to support an active developer but haven't found a good alternative.

Which game is it and what did you not like about it?

List 2-3 of your favourite games or choose some game mechanics, and hopefully someone else can recommend a game that follows the same style.

And with what player count?

I've been showing a few of my friends the Star Wars Deck Building Game and Star Realms quite a bit. Loving them. Most of the time I'm only playing two player games. Another that I replay a lot is Hive.

There's games I like more, but that I don't seem to get to play very often. Maybe I need to be proactive about setting up game nights!

So, honestly not sure if something like this exists.

Going on vacation and looking for an entry-level RPG like game that I can play together with my wife while camping.

It could be pen and paper based or an actual board game. But it needs to be a guided story which requires little preparation. Also open for other suggestions for 2p other than the typical classic/card games.

This is such a weird situation. Overall it's nothing bad, as they say they're still well ahead of the original promised release date, but at the same time they had already said in a past update how the EU copies "are already with [the fulfillment company]".

I can only imagine they themselves didn't get an explicit update either and due to lacking EU paperwork their copies got binned so they now have to expedited-ship a bunch of new copies over.

In any case, NI soon. Ish. Soon-ish!
