Just arrived in NYC from the UK. The Man City v Spurs game is on at 11:30, I want to have some beers before the Jets Falcons game but also want to watch the footy. Is it likely somebody will be showing the game at the stadium? Whether it’s at someone’s car or the stadium itself

So I decided to go back to every Jets season, all the way back to 1960, to see if we've ever scored under 14 points in six straight games before. Nope! Never even done it five straight games. So I guess we broke our record last week and extended it this week. Lovely.

***The only other teams that I can find who have accomplished this feat in the Super Bowl era are the 2016 Browns, the 1992 Seahawks, the 1970 Patriots, the 1974 Bears, the 1977 Bucs (with 7 in a row), the 1974 Falcons (7), and the 1977 Packers with an incredible 12.

I have been a Jets fan for the past 47 years. For the majority of the years, the Jets would always give you a little hope, but you always knew deep down that we were never getting anywhere near the Super Bowl. And you followed with the usual "same old Jets" trepidation. So, you could never get hurt too bad. Mid Season you're 3 and 5 or 4 and 4 and you're not surprised. It's like eating at an okay restaurant. You satisfied your hunger, it wasn't a great experience, but you expected that. But this year things seemed different. This year we had a "Super Bowl quality defense." This year we had a "hall of fame quarterback." And after all these years of knowing who I root for, a team that missed playing in the super bowl because of mud (yes mud), you would think this cursed franchise could never ever get my hopes up. Yet, unbelievably, they got me this year, hook, line and sinker. Like I really thought we had a chance. Really believed it. Playoffs for sure. Now, after watching offensive football that a high school team could likely outperform, I question how I could have ever fallen for such nonsense. But I promise you, it will never happen again.

I’ve never been in an NFL meeting room on a Monday, but I would imagine they discuss what worked the week before, what didn’t work, and what they will do the next week. How does tomorrow’s start:

Saleh: So guys we struggled again on offense, we really have to dial something up for Houston next week. We’ve only scored 10 TDs this year, that’s unacceptable. What’s the plan?

Hackett: Well everyone I know this is going to sound crazy, but let’s run the exact same inept offense we’ve been running. It hasn’t worked yet, so no one will expect it.

Saleh: Genius Nate. Sheer fucking genius!!

Just a thought.

So, I was at the game today and got amazing seats, section 114 front row (literally behind the Jets bench). I live out of the area, so going to games is a once a year type thing.

Anyways, being in great seats and excited to see the team play, not to mention the fact the seats were all soaked, I was standing and cheering for the team through the game. Around the start of the 2nd quarter, a security guard came over and told me and my GF to sit down. Also keep in mind, there was absolutely no one in the 2/3 rows behind me… I was confused but stood my ground and basically told him no I won’t sit down. He left me alone.

A few minutes later, a different security guard came over and told me the same thing, to sit down because of people behind me. Again, literally no one behind me for at least 4-5 rows. And again, I told her no, the seats are wet and I’m cheering on my team, I’m not sitting down. She told me “It’s a rule” to which I told her “If you tell and get everyone else standing up to sit down, then I’ll sit down.” and pointed to the people in the front row in the back of the end zone that were standing. She said “Those people aren’t in my section” and walked away.

I didn’t get get hassled again after that, and stood for the second half. Genuinely annoyed and frustrated but whatever. Mainly posting this to ask has this happened to anyone else? Is this really a rule? I’ve been to other games and sat/stood not in the front row and nobody said anything about that.

If we’re being honest, this is just a sophomore slump for both of them. Pretty big miscalculation to put such high expectations on these dudes. They are both VERY VERY good. We need a little patience. Fans tend to forget themselves.

I am not crazy! I know the packers drafted a HOF QB! I knew it was 10, right after AR 12. As if they could ever make such a mistake. Never. Never! I just - I just couldn't prove it. He - he covered his tracks, he threw all those terrible interceptions. You think this is something? You think this is good? This? This competent scouting? We’ve done worse. Zach WIlson! Are you telling me that a man just happens to become bad at football like that? No! We orchestrated it! The Jets! We failed to develop him! And we ruined him! And we shouldn't have. I replaced him with Tim Boyle. What was I thinking? We'll never change. We'll never change! Ever since Mark Sanchez, always the same! Couldn't develop a QB! But not our Packers! Couldn't be precious Packers! Developing them well t! And they get another HOF QB? What a sick joke! I should've drafted him when I had the chance!

I know the narrative is out there that the coaching staff and maybe JD is safe because of Rodgers, but I don’t think Woody thinks like that.

In his time owning the team, he’s never kept a coach that has 3 straight subpar years.

2005 - Herm had a 4-12 year that was largely influenced by injuries. He was traded to KC for a 4th round pick.

2008 - Mangini went 9-7 with Farve after a 4-12 year in 2007. He was fired immediately after the season.

2014 - Rex was fired after going 4-12. You could argue that he was on a 4 year downtrend, but I think Woody thought he had righted the ship after going 8-8 in 2013 with trash skill positions.

2018 - Todd Bowles completed a 3-year trash trifecta by going 4-12 after two 5-11 years.

2020 - Adam Gase gets fired after a colossal display of ineptitude lasting 2 seasons.

Lots of defensive promise from Robert Saleh, but he’s 4-13, 7-10, and now 4-8 with at least 4 losable games upcoming. I don’t think Woody is going to react well to 4-13 or 5-12, even with injuries.

  1. The illegal contact call to negate a pick
  2. No late hit call on the catch that was overturned (it was correct that the pass was no good)
  3. That fumble that made the jets waste timeouts was incomplete. (All the false starts were good calls)

He never addresses the fan base. Most other GMs do. Why doesn’t woody make him stand behind the product he is putting out there?

Jets wins:

Bills Game - OT kickoff return

Eagles Game - Interception with 1:50 left

Giants Game - 68 yards in 0:24s for game tying field goal

Even Denver had a chance to win at 24-21 w/ 2:14 remaining.

I seriously hate this franchise.

We all know the season is over. In two weeks we will likely be mathematically eliminated. Let's take a look at the future 2024 JETS roster

Offense

QB: 1)Aaron Rodgers, 2)Backup FA________, 3) Zach

RB: 1) Breece Hall, 2) Izzy, 3rd cheap veteran FA__________

FB: 1) Bawden or someone else

LT: 1) Our first round pick, 2) Carter Warren,3) practice squad __________

LG: 1) Tomlinson ( I think we keep him as no other players are better), 2) veteran FA_ 3) 3rd round draft pick

C) 1) Tippman 2) Veteran FA (possible mcGovern - he's probably cheap)

RG) 1) Spend $12mil AAV for a strong FA, 2) Xavier Newman, 3) Tippman if we have a good C

RT) 1) AVT (health issues), 2) Reunion with George Fant (he wasn't that bad) or a FA ala Morgan Moses (4mil AAV)

TE) 1) Conklin 2) Ruckert Uzomah will be released for 5mil cap savings

WR1 - Garrett Wilson

WR2 - We need to shell out 10 mil a year for a solid #2

WR3 - Allan Lazard/ Gipson

Defense

DT: Quinnen Williams/ Jefferson

DT: Sign a strong Veteran Run defender (we used to have Fatukasi) /Al Woods

DE: Jermaine Johnson/Solomon Thomas/Clemons

DE: JFM / Will McDonald

if Bryce Huff wants $20mill a year he's gone in a Tag and Trade and we'll get another draft pick

LB: CJ Mosley

LB: Quincy Williams

LB: Sherwood

CB1 : Sauce /Echols

CB2: DJ Reed /Guidry

Slot Corner: Retain Michael Carter

Bryce Hall doesn't have a staring position and will likely be gone in FA

Safety: Resign Whitehead or Ashtyn Davis

FS: Tony Adams , FA

Open to thoughts?

You want to talk about bad Hackett level poor play calling ... how about the Seahawks calling a play on 4th and game designed not to block Micah Parsons. Wow, what the hell was that.

On top of that, Geno just dirts the ball? It's 4th and game Geno, just throw the ball up for grabs!

I have a system. It's a good system. All of my t-shirts are folded and stacked in a pile. Clean shirts go in at the bottom. Every day I take one off the top and wear it. If I take one off the top and I have second thoughts about wearing it, then it's usually time for that t-shirt to be taken out of the rotation and trashed.

Today a New York Jets t-shirt was top of the pile.

I am too embarrassed.

First time in 40 years.

Feel like there’s a misconception that this is fully up to him. Doctors are deciding this. If he didn’t have a reasonable expectation to not retear the same tendon, he would not be cleared to play
