Hey guys, I want to show this product I’ve just finished as a solo developer.

TL;DR I built a template app based in the T3 stack.

I feel like we’re in a very interesting time right now, there are a lot of opportunities to build apps. I’ve seen people make a lot of money with stuff like talk to your pdf or similar apps. I wanted to have a quick way to prototype ideas and see what sticks, so I made an actual app: https://transcribely.io, built to be easily customized and repurposed, with documentation and all.

I really put a lot of stuff in it, the video linked is a demo. I’m curious to know what you guys think.

Btw you can buy it from https://shipvoid.com .

it’s about managing time, energy, without burning out.

how do you keep the passion for your side project alive while handling job responsibilities?

is it about strict scheduling, or finding moments of inspiration amidst the daily grind?

what’s your strategy for keeping both balls in the air without dropping either?

let’s exchange some tips and experiences on this juggling act.

I've made an app to manage stock, clients and register sales + show some reports. Initially my idea was to focus on individual sales reps or small businesses. People that either do those things in an Excel spreadsheet or on a notebook even, or that maybe have no control at all at the moment.

One feature that is different from anywhere else I've seen, is that once a user registers a product, they can opt for this product to be shared. So the app will have a collaborative list of products already pre-populated. (In the likes of MyFitnessPal)

I know best way to start is "cold emailing", reaching out, etc. Any suggestions on how to do it for a public like this? Or even suggestions of a better niche/public?

I did run some facebook ads, 200 clicks in the ad, not a single signup 😅 So either audience was completely off, or landing page was total crap, or both.

This is not a self-promoting post, so no link to it in this main post, but more than happy to share it in the comments for opinions/roasting.

https://writeloops.com

The idea is you can send quick links to your code and collect feedback. Something way lighter weight than GitHub or stackoverflow. No accounts required and completely free for all the main features.

There's a premium version if you want to try the AI code review or get an account to save all your links and comments in one place.

Would love any feedback or suggestions!

Making a new tool that adds a higher level inbox to your current email 'inbox'.

This new inbox requires senders to pay a very small fee to you in order to reach your inbox, similar to first class mail.

If they don't pay, it doesn't reach your new inbox.

Here is the basic idea video demo: https://youtu.be/9ytHdcrio3o?si=NuQxj2MsZ7VxYqqb

Looking for feedback.

Hi

I have an idea for a library that I think has potential for monetization and I'm in need of some advise. My main queries revolve around implementing licensing. Should I develop my own system for generating and validating license keys within the code, or are there existing tools I should consider? Also, I'm looking into a way to cap the number of users, like ensuring only five developers use it within a 5 seat purchase instead of 500. Do I need to create my own API or a simpler method to monitor and manage these user seats?

As a C# developer, my initial implementation will be in this language. However, I aim to make this functionality accessible to other programming stacks too. Is there a feasible way to extend this to languages like Python and Java without completely recoding everything? Perhaps a wrapper around the existing DLL?

Any insights or experiences you can share would be immensely helpful. Thanks.

What's good,

I'm a 18yo college freshman at UTS Sydney with a deep passion for tech and home design.

One day my roommate was had an idea to redecorate our dorm room. We wanted to see our room in different interior styles, and faced a major problem. There were so many styles and themes to choose from, which ended up wasting a huge chunk of our time spent deciding. Neither of us know photoshop so that was not an option, and even if we did, it wouldn;t have been an efficient use of our time.

We've looked for apps online that could potentially help us solve this, but they were either really expensive or couldn't solve our problem efficiently.

So we built one of our own to solve our problem. Shared it with some folks and realized the app solved their problems too. Basically, users upload an image of their room and get a render of it in a diffferent style, in like 7 seconds. App worked pretty well. Folks can even upscale their renders afterwards.

This is where you come in. We need your help to build the best and most intuitive home design tool out there, and in order to do that, we need to understand the problems and pain points you face. Feel free to comment them down below!

Hey guys, so I'm kind of new to the indie hacking world and I wanted to take advantage of the current discounts and offers, I plan on building a project where the main cost will be around hosting I guess, free and premium users will upload documents all the time so that's my my concern.

My main stack is Nextjs, Nodejs, MySQL or Postgres.

I already have a cloudways account which costs me around $11.5 a month so I'm not sure if it suits my tecj stack.

My budget is under $2000 so I don't if that's enough to afford the whole process, domain, hosting... Etc, no external APIs will be used so that's about all.

Thanks in advance.

I can't help myself to think that nowadays, products UX/UI level is so high, that even for B2B products, people have expectations.

I would certainly not use a product that looks and feels crappy even if it solves my needs.

I could possibly don't see how it solves my needs if it does it in a crappy way too.

What are your thoughts?

Imagine this:

A web app which lets you paste your Twitter Post Link and then you can customize the font and add a background so you can export it to Instagram easily. The tool might also allow you to auto
post beautifully designed post screenshots to Instagram whenever you post on Twitter .

This would save YOU time and allow you more easily to build an extra channel for your content.

Would YOU find value in that and use it?

Hi everyone,

Watching my wife build prestashop and wooCommerce sites for small local artisans, I realized that most of them were struggling to fill out their product details page and thus missing out on SEO and sales opportunities.

So I decided to create a practical tool for online store owners and managers. It uses AI to create product details from a brief description.

How does it work?

  1. Describe your product
  2. It generates product details (title, desc, keywords, meta desc and more)

Objective: simplify the product listing process and improve the efficiency of the online store for people that don't know how to do it properly or even experts that want to save time or get a quick template to iterate on.

Here is the link to the tool

What would you want me to add to improve it?Already had a feed that someone would love to have tabs with sorted details

Thanks for reading this and trying the tool, or even better, sharing it!

Float UI

Over a year ago, I started working on the first version of floatui.com, and I worked hard to ship it as soon as possible so people can start using it in their projects, the idea wasn't to build a library with complex things, where you'll need to install it, and reading the documentation on how to use something there ...etc, but I liked to keep it simple as possible, and let developers copy the code to build their own internal library using Tailwind CSS utility classes.

My goal for Float UI is to make it the best way to build UIs for any kind of projects using any modern JS framework, and to give the contributors the opportunity to make money by just contributing to it.

Note: It's fully free and open source, and I will keep it free forever, so enjoy it friends.

Hello folks 👋,

For the past three months, I've been working on a tool that assists you in planning your trip using AI.

This isn't just another simple GPT Chatbot. Instead, it asks a few questions, such as your travel destination, date, travel companions, and interests. We believe that chatting might not be the best solution, as many people don't know what to ask (maybe it's my bias, haha).

Afterward, the AI generates a trip according to your preferences, and you can visualize all the suggested locations pinned on the map.

You're free to edit or modify these locations. Moreover, we utilize AI to suggest accommodations.

This allows you to publicly share your trip, download it as a PDF, or even bookmark others' trips for future reference.

The tool is compatible with all devices. It offers a better user experience on desktops, especially when you need to reorder the locations.

And did I mention, it's completely free 🙂

https://wonderplan.ai

Here's a template of a 3-day trip plan in Tokyo, Japan. You can view it without an account and replicate it upon creating one:

https://wonderplan.ai/v4/plan/v4-Q8O8Et5rSe7KE79eLct23

I am humbly seeking any feedback. Anything you think is relevant would be appreciated, particularly on the following points:

Does the landing page entice you?

Are there any features missing that you would expect?

Is there anything that makes no sense or annoys you?

What's stopping you from using it regularly?

I am keen to step outside of my comfort zone and welcome insightful, constructive feedback.

Thank you!

Hey there! I've put together this site where you can whip up your own custom meal plans. Think of it like your personal meal planner that hits your inbox exactly when you need it – weekly, monthly... Plus, you get just the right number of meals you're looking for, along with a grocery list to make shopping easy. Curious?

side projects often push us to learn new stuff - coding, design, marketing.

it's not just about the project, but how we grow, what we learn.

what new skills have you had to learn for your side project?

how's that learning journey been? any tips for others diving into new areas?

sharing our experiences could help someone else on their skill-building path.

Hi there,

I built a SaaS product that can be used to practice frontend. It is still in early stages and has some missing tutorials but I have about 2 users that I met on reddit who liked it and practiced React tutorial and provided feedback.
I am requesting more feedback from this community.
Link to product: https://practicecoding.tthroo.com/practice/unit/4

Why I built it? I am passionate about FE but I have been working on some Java heavy backend stuff and found myself struggling with FE stuff because I was not practicing enough (or not at all). My favorite quote about practice is "Think practice sucks, try losing". Hence I built this product.

I am planning to add more interactive tutorials to it and also share my learnings from researching large open source code bases and generally best practices.

You can join the waitlist by submitting the form here: https://forms.gle/Pn9NtJN4Hbwypti88 so I can notify you when all the tutorials I have added are complete and ready.

Any feedback is highly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm thrilled to share the incredible success I've had with my latest project, EvermailAI.com! In just two weeks, we somehow managed to hit the 500 signups mark... and today, I want to let y'all in on how this was achieved and what I've learned. 🚀

1. WE PRACTICED WHAT WE PREACHED

EverMail AI is an email marketing automation that was initially designed to be an internal tool. But as the development of EverMail AI was eventually completed over several months, something became clear to us.

Before taking EverMail AI to a wider audience, we thought to ourselves: Could EverMail AI successfully market itself? Spoiler alert: yes.

Sourcing leads both organically and via Apollo, with EverMail AI's personalized outreach, resonated with our target audience. This short initial testing period saw a cold email conversion rate of ~23%, which was an amazing start that resulted in 192 signups.

2. GOOGLE (CONVERSIONS) AND LINKEDIN (AWARENESS) ADS

  • Keyword Selection:
    • We conducted thorough keyword research to identify terms relevant to email automation tools, using Semrush. We also ensured that ads were displayed to users actively seeking products like EverMail AI.
    • We utilized Google Search Ads for high-conversion intent keywords, focusing on users actively searching for solutions.
  • Ad Copy Creation:
    • You must craft engaging and concise ad copy to capture the audience's attention. We highlighted EverMail AI's USPs and emphasized the benefits of personalized email automation.
    • Something important is to use tailored ad copies based on the platform - emphasizing detailed features on Google where users are more likely to convert quickly.
  • Budget Management:
    • This is a bit obvious, but you must regularly monitor and adjust the budget based on the performance of different campaigns to ensure maximum ROI and prevented unnecessary expenditure.
    • We allocated a larger budget to Google Ads for conversion-focused campaigns and a more modest budget on LinkedIn Ads for brand awareness.

3. Competitive Pricing Strategies:

Offering EverMail AI at a competitive price point was key to attracting users for us initially, even if it did not scale. We were pretty scared to offer 1,000 personalization credits for $24 at the start knowing we could charge much more... but by providing a valuable product at an affordable rate, we positioned EverMail AI as a not only a functional but also a cost-effective solution in the market.

Transparent Pricing: We clearly communicated the pricing structure on the EverMail AI website and in all marketing materials as well as prioritized transparency to build trust with potential users, acknowledging that clear and upfront pricing is a key factor in decision-making for users evaluating different solutions.

The transparency extended to outlining the features included in each pricing tier, ensuring users had a comprehensive understanding of what they would receive with their investment. This approach aimed not only to attract users genuinely interested in EverMail AI but also to establish a foundation of trust by being open about the cost of the service.

Free Trial Options: We introduced a free trial period for EverMail AI, providing users with an opportunity to experience the tool's benefits firsthand without committing to a subscription. The free trial was designed to showcase the practical value of EverMail AI, allowing users to explore its features, test its effectiveness, and determine how it could seamlessly integrate into their workflows.

This strategy not only attracted a larger user base but also allowed EverMail AI to demonstrate its value proposition effectively, converting trial users into long-term, satisfied customers.

THANKS!

I've got a treasure trove of other insights waiting to be shared, from outclassing copycat products to the intricacies of social media marketing, but I'll leave that for another post. Thanks a ton for taking the time to read through this! 🎉
