Cleveland Voted to Kill Its Flock Camera Network. They Have REMAINED ON, With Police Still Using Them
(www.gadgetreview.com)
This is a most excellent place for technology news and articles.
What a joke. Harris, the ex-prosecutor who worked directly with police to send people to jail would have somehow banned these devices? Based on what exactly, the (D) next to her name?
These cameras are all over Democratic cities because they love surveillance too. Look how many stories about people wrongfully accused/arrested of crimes based on junk Flock data have come out of places like Colorado and California.
Furthermore Democrats are all on board with other mass surveillance laws such as the KIDS Act, requiring people to show ID to install operating systems or go online, which has a majority support amongst both Democratic and Republican legislators. Obama happily continued the PATRIOT Act, and the list goes on.
What a bunch of absolute nonsense pulled straight from your behind.
Yeah, that's why you primary incumbents with progressives you fucking walnut. Participate in the fuckin conversation or go back to your accelerationist space. What you're doing right here gets republicans elected, but that's probably your goal anyway.
Unless the DNC decides not to have a primary like we saw with Biden in '24 or use their wealth and power to crush progressive candidates like they tried to do in the NYC mayoral election. You're dangerously naive if you think that the issue with these people holding us under their thumb is that they don't have enough support from us.
You're the accelerationist here because you're the one demanding we turn our brains off and support the status quo and let them do as they wish. You're being played like a fiddle.
This is exactly why people need to join the Democratic party to change it from within.
There are only 2 options currently, completely insane and less insane, joining the less insane to improve it is the better option.
Trying to change things from a third party is a fools errand, they will never achieve power as long as Republicans and Democrats agree on sharing it.
