A nice place to discuss rumors, happenings, innovations, and challenges in the technology sphere. We also welcome discussions on the intersections of technology and society. If it’s technological news or discussion of technology, it probably belongs here.

Remember the overriding ethos on Beehaw: Be(e) Nice. Each user you encounter here is a person, and should be treated with kindness (even if they’re wrong, or use a Linux distro you don’t like). Personal attacks will not be tolerated.

How many more peaceful protests are we going to do before learning they don’t work? Start taking notes.

What do you mean "they don't work"? $130 Billion worth of data centers have been blocked by protests this year alone. Congress is drafting anti-data center legislation. Governors are passing moratoriums on DCs. Public sentiment has never been lower for AI/FLOCK and datacenters.

This is action. Showing up to town halls; working to craft airtight legal cases and defenses; using data to fight back like More Perfect Union has in regard to sound pollution and strain on infrastructure. People have to stick around and not simply show up to picket and then go about their day.

Water balloons filled with vinegar are about as effective as unlit Molotov cocktails.

But you go ahead and keep being smug tho.
