A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

Not a lot of things disappoint me in life but this thing sure did. I showed her my portfolio, everything was great I agreed to do the wedding for 400$ and asked 150 as an advance to book me. Pre wedding is in one week , she ghosted me no response, called her she cut the call. Is it generally this tough getting clients

Your rate is fine to start with small weddings or short half day ones.

Now since weddings happen longer after you have booked them, you need to have a contract that retains them while allowing for a reasonable amount of time to rethink or policies that allow you or them to bail in extraordinary circumstances.

The prob with the rate I see is that if you make your downpayment a percent based (say 30%) even if your contract threatens that you will pocket it if they bail for no justifiable reason, it's an expense that most people can bare if they decide to change photog last minute.
