There’s really no benefit to firing Rivera mid season. We all know he’s a lame duck at this point. There’s also nobody worthy of stepping in as interim coach on the roster. Del Rio? He’s part of the problem, not the solution. Appointing Bienemy as interim head coach would be setting him up to fail IMO.

And what is gained by keeping him? Likely 7 more losses by season end.

Many talk of EB being coach next season. And clearly this team is a garbage fire, which is still very likely to be a garbage next year (rebuilds don't happen in an off-season). So what's the difference? If he can't manage six weeks in a bad situation, how does he manage for a whole season?

Is it right? Maybe not, but will the expectation of a coaching regime change be that the new coach is not evaluated until they have all "their" pieces in place. Nope, what can do you with what you got, now. Not in 5 years. This is how it has been. So if EB cannot handle a late season appointment to interm HC, he can go right out the door with the rest of them.

“Likely 7 more losses by season end.”

Do you know who owns the Commanders? This is what he dreams about.

This team always finds a way to win like 3-4 meaningless games to finish the year lol.
