Foster is the official who received 134 phone calls from disgraced referee Tim Donaghy between October 2006 and April 2007, as originally reported by FOX News. That was the same period during which Donaghy admitted to betting on NBA games. The report said that Donaghy called Foster more than any other ref and that he didn't call any other official more than 13 times.

Donaghy's calls to Foster took place immediately before and after games Donaghy was officiating 54 times.

The records also showed Donaghy making several calls to Foster on the days of games, generally for no more than two minutes.

The report also said that when Donaghy called Foster, he mostly used the phone that he dedicated to gambling-related phone calls, and the phone calls stopped abruptly when Donaghy said he stopped gambling.

the two other big elephants in the room related to Stern:

  • the "frozen envelope" theory around the Knicks drafting Ewing
  • MJ's "retirement" to play baseball, at the peak of his career - 100% NOT in any way related to a suspension for gambling

To me the racial stuff is bigger than the envelope

I never really buy that MJ "suspension" conspiracy theory. The guy's father was murdered, it lines up he'd make a change like that.

but WHY was his father murdered? 🤔

a lot of allegations that it was a hit on MJs family due to unpaid gambling debts that MJ had acquired with some bad people.

I feel like that's more believable than the suspension stuff, but you know they caught the people responsible for it? They don't seem like mob guys who were ordered to take the fall or set-up. Both men admit to stealing MJ's dad's car and robbing it, they just have different versions of who shot him.
