That's 19 calls a month, 134/7. The only people I talk to that much is my dad.
Honestly they probably used Donaghy as the fall guy and let the others involved with him get out unscathed to try to keep any form of integrity in the game, kinda like saying "Oh it was just one bad apple, everything is fine!". The issue is that by doing that, they were never able to get rid of the other refs that probably did shady shit, due to fear of them going out publicly saying that the NBA let them keep their jobs in the past despite knowing that they were doing shady stuff.
Unfortunately, we will have to wait for people like Scott Foster to retire for him to be out of the game at this point.

Foster is the official who received 134 phone calls from disgraced referee Tim Donaghy between October 2006 and April 2007, as originally reported by FOX News. That was the same period during which Donaghy admitted to betting on NBA games. The report said that Donaghy called Foster more than any other ref and that he didn't call any other official more than 13 times.
People always bring this up. And Scott Foster is a douche. But it may have been extremely odd for Donaghy to have had these conversations with a specific referee. But Foster was having these conversations with all the referees.

I wonder if the refs are like the police. There's the cops that are bad and others that allow them to be bad and not speak out in order to stay a ref.

Sports gambling has always and will always be an issue for sports. There needs to be some sort of independent board or something over-seeing all the leagues or the fixing questions won't go away. It's gonna happen to at least one if not all three football games today. Supposedly there is a rumor that the famous Ali poster where he knocked out that dude, he actually missed him and the dude took a dive and Ali was yelling at him to get back up (just a legend but who knows).

That’s where I’m at. Two turds in the punch bowl. I’m a life long suns fan and season ticket holder and I don’t like having CP3 on our team. It just felt icky to me. I thought well if he brings our first chip it will be worth it. He dormant play the game right. So that’s where I’m at with him. But also fuck Scott Foster in the ass with a flaming sword. He deserves whatever shit comes to him in life.
PS r/nba told me I need to hate Grayson Allen too but I think he’s an alright dude so far. Haven’t seen anything dirty or weird from him yet here and he’s ballin out most nights and seems to play the game right.
I think Grayson has absolutely put a lid on his anger problem and evolved. I'm sure it will bubble up occasionally with him a couple more times in his career, but he hasn't made it his career vocation to be an pedantic, fraudulent asshole the way Paul has.

Still convinced Rockets make it to the Finals that year if either 1-2 threes get made or if Scott Foster wasn’t reffing a lot of that series. We were getting no calls and there was a definite bias against us (he had it out for Paul, but Harden wasn’t on his good list either). Guy is a POS.
My assumption has always been the NBA knows Foster is dirty, but if two refs go down the NBA has a gambling problem. Right now the story is one referee had a gambling problem.

It's baffling that we know this, the NBA obviously knows aboyt this, yet still allows this dude to keep officiating & being clearly biased. Adam Silver wanta the NBA to get the recognition the NFL does, yet keeps officials who hold it back & make it easy to not even want to watch NBA basketball. It's insane.
