No, the Chopin is far ahead of it. They are quite different sound signatures though, the EM6L is much warmer with mid-bass and also sharper pinna gain.
While the Chopin has the controversial bass "tuck" from the Variations and is a bit more restrained in the highs- relative to the EM6L. It's not that restrained, either, it has quite a bit in the upper mids, it's more that the EM6L is hot.
I can see someone preferring the EM6L but for me it wouldn't be close.

Thanks for the insight!
Hrm, I have the AFUL P5 and have been looking at the Chopin. I'm thinking I may stick with the P5 since the P5 is like the cusp of where I want the upper mids/treble to be
Bass is a lot more impactful on the Chopin but it's a smoother glide down with less of a "tuck" on the Performer 5. Chopin does have a bit more in the upper mids than the P5 but not to the point it's problematic. Treble about the same I think, both are inoffensive. Both are great, I think purely on sound I probably would give it to the Chopin but it's a matter of taste, the P5 is ahead of the EM6L for me.
Fit is a LOT better on the Performer 5, it's a particularly good fit IEM while the Chopin is somewhat of a challenge... not impossible to get a good fit but requires more tip rolling I think. And even after all that- the Performer 5 is still a better fit, it's a particularly comfortable and good fitting IEM (and small, for an IEM of that pseudo-custom style).

Yeah based on the links and my experience with the P5, I can cross the Chopin off my list. I love my P5 and think some minor EQ is the way to go. Thanks!
