I'm sure Reagan deserves a lot of the criticism and he was possibly in early stage Alzheimer's in his second term. However I mostly remember him being the president in charge when the cold war ended and Eastern Europe was finally liberated.
He had nothing to do with that. In fact, every intelligence source in the world was taken by surprise when the Soviet Union not only fell, but also that it happened so quickly, and with fairly little bloodshed. NOBODY saw it coming.
It happened on his watch, but not because of him, but Conservatives like to take credit anyway.
