I think it’s something we may see more of in the future. I imagine the whole Steph generation of kids have spent far more time working on 3s than FT. It’ll be interesting to see if FT% continues to be a good predictor of 3PT shooting in the future.
Not sure why the downvotes here. I agree.
I grew up before Steph changed everything and even then I focused way too much on shooting 3s. I couldn't hit a 15 foot jumper shot to save my life but I shot 35-40% from three...and shot terribly from the line for the most part, the few times I actually got to the line.
Some players just have that 3pt shot muscle memory hardwired into them and a lot of shots from inside the arc come secondary. I'm 32 now and when I play pickup still I have an easier time hitting a 3 than making a goddam layup some nights lol
