He missed like 30 million due to the rookie contract changes. Locker is a great example of why you go pro when you can.

He also had the quote “If I can’t be happy with $6 million then I’m doing something wrong” paraphrasing but money was never his motivation. He’s my all time favorite athlete. He was talked about this a few times and has said he wouldn’t trade giving UDub their first bowl win in a long long time for leaving early. He’s a country boy living in his hometown of Ferndale and has more than enough money to be happy. He’s the man.

There's something to be said for the massive changes in your life going from college to the "real world"

Maybe Marvin really likes his college life and wants one more year of it before 10+ years of similar nfl life. They will likely all be great years for him I bet.

Would be nice to hear that sort of thing more. Like when a player is insulted by a 200 million dollar contract because they want 220 million. Like at what point does it not make a difference anymore?

It always felt like justifying his choice with some regrets, but what do I know. Locker is a badass though, I actually watched college football for a few years bcuz of him.

No he knew what he was doing. It was the year that they were going away from those massive rookie contracts. So he already knew he was throwing money away.
