The Grizzlies went on an 11-3 run coming out of this timeout, so I think he succeeded in firing them up to some extent. But it was too little, too late.

I’m genuinely curious about what the Grizzlies are doing now for this season when Ja and other guys return. Is their record already too cooked to make the playoffs and will they just tank this season? Or will they try to overcome this record and seriously contend again? Also are they willing to trade certain players such as Smart?

Prob gonna do what Portland did last season but obviously not trade Ja

The west is extremely stacked, you have 9 or 10 legitimate teams even without the Grizzlies. They probably will have lost to many games when Ja is coming back. The Mavs will surely drop out of the playoff picture at some point but the rest of the teams are legit and they may not be able to come back from to many losses.

I'm really not sure if the Mavs drop out of the playoff picture. Frankly I expect a repeat of last year's Wild West with everyone from the 12th see on up racing to get into either the play-in or the top 6, though maybe with a conference wide bump in record.
