The Grizzlies went on an 11-3 run coming out of this timeout, so I think he succeeded in firing them up to some extent. But it was too little, too late.

This really hurts to see. I know the Grizzlies fans appreciate him, but I want the team to be healthy for Marcus.

[–] Kung-Fu_Tacos@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Marcus gotta get healthy too. 3 weeks til Ja is back, hopefully most get healthy by then (Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke excluded).

This shit must get tiring when the player saying it is having a truly horrible season so far.

[–] Exius73@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

It kinda looks like he clapping his hands to the drum beat

It’s gonna be interesting to see what this team is like when Ja comes back. I don’t know how the chemistry will be between him and Smart, ideally Ja can grow as a player by having someone like Smart around.

[–] SlothBling@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (4 children)

We’ll only be missing 6 players instead of 7; so probably still bad.

I hope he kicks a trash can next time he tells someone it's embarrassing. That's the kind of motivation you need to get that W boys

He's like Adam Sandler's character in that football movie

[–] EnoughLawfulness3163@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Always irked me that he got the first perimeter defender DPOY in years, then was a non-factor against Steph. I realize Steph does that to everyone, but it just made the award seem meaningless

[–] Levon__Helm@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Cause he was great in the regular season. Embiid won fucking MVP and got locked down by Horford in the playoffs.

3 guys bet on who can make their wife scream more from sex They make the bet and decide to all go home and have sex with their wives and compare results the next day.

Next day comes along and they meet to discuss. Guy #1 says “I fucked my wife so hard, she was screaming for like 20 minutes.” Guy #2 says “that’s nothing. I fucked my wife with a dildo in her ass at the same time and she was screaming for an hour!” Guy #3 says “amateurs! I fucked my wife for 15 seconds, came on the curtains, and she’s still screaming at me!”

Clippers can go to hell, straight to fucking hell. Bush league ran franchise.

[–] Naismythology@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

He’s not wrong…

[–] Eastmont@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

We’ll take him on the Lakers, hell yes.

That’s what playing my Minnesota Timberwolves does to a MF these days

How soon until players tune him out?

[–] lsd418@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

So they got rid of Ty Jones and got Marcus Smart, knowing Ja was out for 25 for enthusiastic gun ownership. Knowing Jones had experience running point. What was the point of this trade?

[–] CankerousWretch24@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

I bet they tune him out like JB and JT did

[–] Katzone@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

What do you mean he was the heart and soul of the celtics. That’s why they have collapsed this year without him. /s

screams from the shadow realm

I’m genuinely curious about what the Grizzlies are doing now for this season when Ja and other guys return. Is their record already too cooked to make the playoffs and will they just tank this season? Or will they try to overcome this record and seriously contend again? Also are they willing to trade certain players such as Smart?

The Grizz's front-running AAU energy meeting "heart and soul." Can't wait to see what happens by game 60 when he's sick of their immaturity and they're done with getting sonned by a guy with no championship pedigree.

[–] Fresh_Ostrich4034@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

He aint wrong. Marcus trying to be the leader they were hoping Morant would be.

[–] hoosehoose@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Ja be back soon and they be fine. Smart wasn’t a solution to Morant absence. Idk whoever thought that would work. At best he is a defensive hustle player that can bank in a bad shot at the end of a shot clock every now and then. Does play hard af tho. Got heart. But doesn’t have the tools to give even a tenth of ja output for that team.

I think it was my dumbass brother that argued smart could handle the reigns why ja out. But he is a dummy. Free ja

[–] royn97@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

They’ll be fine when ja is back. At least better than this

[–] MyNameIsJudge8@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

The band going hard is actually distracting. Maybe because I don’t want to like a Celtic it’s harder for me

[–] PepeSylvia11@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Poor, poor Marcus

[–] PaulMcPaulersn7@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

You could always request a trade… I know a team that desperately needs a starting calibre pg

[–] ILJello@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Grizzlies replace brooks for smart. Same same but different….. but

[–] EatDeeply@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

This is obnoxious and he was the worst starter for our team from a performance standpoint before he got injured.

[–] realfakejames@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Bro went from the NBA finals to being on the laughingstock of the NBA lmao Brad Stevens must have hated him

[–] elxhapo6@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Mfs ain’t shit without 12 free the shooter

[–] Damour@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Jeez what a mess. I saw their record today and was very surprised since I haven’t been paying much attention to them. Hope they can get it back on track

[–] Shovelman2001@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Really thought Memphis was going to be a good landing spot for him. I love us doing better, but I still feel bad for him with how they're doing. Brad better be right by the phone in 2026 the second his contract is up. He needs to finish his career here, even if it's as the backup PG.

[–] Akidnamedkenny@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Ja seriously killed this team. They were on such a roll and all the momentum has died. Gonna be interesting to see how they come back when Ja is back

[–] todi41@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Can anyone else actually make out anything he's saying?

[–] FlatAd768@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

steve kerr is right, nba arenas are too loud

[–] DontBanMe_IWasJoking@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Danny Ainge lives to torture undersized guards

[–] L10Ang@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Ja really let this team down. He should be booed the second he steps back on the court.

[–] dougprishpreed69@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Do the grizzlies have their own pick this year? I doubt when Ja returns they will be as bad as they’ve been but they probably won’t make the playoffs or playin is my guess… maybe with a little lottery luck they get to add another high quality player to a pretty young core, or at least a nice trade chip

[–] Sirtopofhat@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

So they need to sign Shorsey?

[–] airmagswag@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Brad make the call

[–] LittlefishBigsplash@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Man went from a contender to a non. What do you expect.

[–] meekspuff@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

What are some of the audience’s thoughts while watching this unfold?

[–] midniteeternal@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago
[–] ParsnipPizza@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

I'm only bummed I didn't predict the exact game/day/hour this would happen. Especially with how the Grizzlies have totally spiraled and guys like JJJ are coming into question for defense, no wonder he's losing it

[–] 512fm@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Good on him, someone needs to do this to the Pistons youngins
