The Grizzlies went on an 11-3 run coming out of this timeout, so I think he succeeded in firing them up to some extent. But it was too little, too late.

From the comments in here, I don’t think people realize how injured the Grizzlies are on top of not having Ja.

Remember last year when they had Ja but lost Steven Adams and lost 6 out of 7?

Well yeah they’re missing him, his backup Xavier Tillman, Brandon Clarke, Luke Kennard, and Marcus Smart.

3 starters and 3 backups. 6 of their top 10.

oh no not luke lennard

Adams is an elite box out player and screener but something is fundamentally wrong when he is that important

You must not have watched the Grizzlies play over the last two years. Everything runs through him and Ja's initial action. And he gets them so many extra possessions. He's also well above average defender.

I know what he does. I mean, he was basically the reason that Russ averaged triple doubles and won an MVP.

But you got to admit that, as a team lauded for its drafting capabilities and depth, it shouldn’t completely tank the team
