I feel like it's human nature to find an enemy by picking something that makes them different.

someone from another tribe
someone thinking jesus was a man and not a prophet
someone wearing a red hat and not a blue one
someone being a woman and not a man
someone liking men and not women
someone being from the east of a city and someone from the west
someone being trans instead of male/female
etc.

Eventually it'll be someone whose wearing cyber implants vs those who don't ala Deus Ex. It doesn't make it right but it just seems that we as a race need an enemy at all times.
