Idk who watches the Lakers and thinks Zach Lavine fixes our issues. We need a big man and someone that can play perimeter defense
And Lavine is a short guy who can't play any defense.
Christian wood and rui aren’t enough?
Would make more sense to go after Vuc than Lavine lol. Idk why people think star power = champs. Case and point - Nets (with KD) and Clippers (pick a year, doesn’t change a thing).
to be fair, Lavine is a pretty good 3 point shooter. That would fit a need for the lakers.
Ayton and Thybulle for Reaves and Hachimura.
Kinda need the center to do the dirty work like Dwight and Javale did.
The fuck is AD? Lmao you mean a back up big?
Lakers just need to wait until Vando and Vincent come back, it fix the lack of playmaking and perimeter defense. They just need another C to deal with elite Center like Embid or Jokic or hell even Senguin. Lakers seem to get cook if the other team have a good Center.
Who watching the bulls thinks reaves solves any problems either. Dumb both ways
You’re 25th in ORTG for the year while being 13th in DRTG. Basically your defense is slightly above average while your offense is complete ass. Trust me brother, you need Lavine.
There’s a certain perimeter defender on the Bulls that I’ve had my eye on for years… 🦅
This year? Sure.
But let's face it, Bron has probably this season and next season left, Lakers have got to start planning for the future. Plus one of the biggest issues is that the Lakers start so flat with low energy and that's been the case since 2018 when Bron joined. It's just gotten worse.
Chances of Bron winning another one with LA are slim at this point, adding Lavine to that mix ups that chance a bit while also preparing for the future when he retires/leaves. Lakers are shit when Bron sits, AD isn't that guy to take over the offense. Bron is probably only good for 25 mins when he's going full blast on both ends, they need someone to help share that load.
Was hoping for Kyrie but Dallas are too good right now
our perimeter defense would be fine if reddish and rui were healthy. our defense is fine (when healthy)
the main issue is offense. we are in the bottom 5 in offensive rating in the league, when lebron sits we can't generate offense for shit, and our wings haven't been knocking down 3s. Lavine literally solves all of that
Jeannie Buss, perhaps?
don't forget her wine club with Kurt and Linda Rambis
OG makes more sense in every way, just have to wait and see which way Toronto decides to go.
I don’t think the Lakers would win a bidding war for OG. The Grizzlies and Pelicans reportedly offered 3 1sts for OG last trade deadline.
Yeah, if I’m the Lakers, I’m trying to sell Toronto on an OG for DLo plus stuff package. They’re not as depleted of picks as they were a couple years ago. Really depends on how serious the Raptors are about holding onto OG though
OG is the Raptors’ defensive anchor. The only way Masai would sacrifice our defence is for a player with Lillard’s offensive talent. We already have our own version of Dlo in Gary Trent Jr.
Toronto will say they’re selling, make the selling price ridiculous, do nothing and eventually lose the player in free agency
Price rediculous for the Lakers*
Masai loves OG. I really don't see them moving OG considering he works better with the Scottie timeline than someone like Siakam and is one of the only decent 3 pt shooters we have had in years
See which way Toronto wants to go? I think they want to go with more than almost nothing that the lakers have to offer. There’s teams that would offer 2-3 frp and young talent for him.
Masai kinda getting stubborn though and not dealing players at ideal times.
They went into this season on seeing how OG does before deciding on contract talks when it's been reported he wants to most he can get in FA (more than what they Raps can pay) and wants a bigger role on offense.
We didn't get anything in return for losing both Lowry and FVV.
I think he'll deal one of or both OG & Siakam for pieces to build around Barnes.
We have his bird rights, so no team can outbid us on OG (or Siakam). The real issue is that he's a UFA and can choose to sign with any team he wants. Masai should have traded Siakam/OG when they still had years left on their contracts and now we'll have to overpay for both (not so bad in OG's case) to retain them.
where did achiuwa come from then?
Somehow I feel like 1 pick in 2029 and D'Angelo Russell is not going to get Masai to give up OG.
Masai would hang up the phone halfway through that sentence lol
I'd give up a pick to not have D'Angelo on the Raps
What are the Vando and Rui injury timelines? Both of them kinda check those boxes... kinda.
Rui just had surgery to fix a broken nose basically and is supposed to be re-evaluated next week, and Vanderbilt got cleared to begin workouts a while back and is just working himself back into shape. Getting Cam Reddish back would also help a lot of these issues, and he should be back soon too.
Crazy to me that y’all need a big man as much as you do despite having AD. The backup bigs you have just play zero defense.
I dunno I watched Lavine in Toronto last week he looked great had like 38 pts? Not sure how the math would work out but Reaves, Russel, and a pick would absolutely be worth it if it was possible.
ehhh... AD still inexplicably only plays offense every other night, and we could definitely use some more non-LeBron fire power on his off nights
not sure if I would give up Reaves but if we could get Bulls to bite on DLo + Max + Hood-Schifino + 2029 pick I think adding LaVine makes a ton of sense
At least on the perimeter defense front, Cam should be back very soon. Vando sometime over the next week or two, I'd think. No idea on Vincent.
Wtf yall pay AD for?
