Anyone else think Gardner has actually become somewhat underrated? Maybe it’s people not caring about Indy, but he’s having a decent season for a back up.

With how bad QB play is around the league (Fields, Wilson, Pickett, DeVito, Bryce, Mac, etc.) I’d wager a lot of teams would love someone who’s competent, tough, accurate, somewhat mobile and a leader like Minshew. He doesn’t have a big arm, he doesn’t have high end athletic traits, he’s short, etc., but the guy can play some football and help a good team stay above water.

His rookie season was great in my eyes. The stats were honestly really good. Say what you want, but that Jags team also wasn’t very good. Watching a guy like Bryce Young play, who I’ll admit is probably in an even worse situation than Minshew was in with the Jags, really puts things into perspective of how rare it is to have a QB who’s competent and not horrendous.

Is he a star? Absolutely not. Is he a franchise guy? Nah. Is he an extremely high end back up / bridge QB? Honestly yes.

Curious as to what everyone’s thoughts are. I know he’s been a topic of discussion in the past but it seems like he isn’t talked about anymore even though he’s winning some games for a decent Indy team and not looking bad in the process. Not advocating for him to be “the guy”, that’s Richardson based on tools and potential, but I think guys like Minshew are insanely valuable.

As someone who watches every Colts snap: no.

He is perfectly rated as is. He’s a great back up QB and a bottom end of the league starting QB.

He has 0 arm strength and is guaranteed to throw 2-3 boneheaded throws per game that typically end in turnovers.

Also, he’s always touted as having good pocket presence and good accuracy for some reason when both are actually complete garbage.

He’s constantly throwing high and behind his receivers and bails out of clean pockets because he’s seeing ghosts when our oline has been one of the best in pass protection this year.

He single handedly lost his job with us last year when he lost us the Cowboys game. We were playing so well but he just kept sailing passes over every receivers head.

I’ve never seen my mom so angry at the tv in my life

The Saints game was even worse. Anyone who calls Hurts a system QB needs to watch those games

Lmaoo same here. My mom was pissed we delayed eating Xmas eve dinner while watching midshew struggle that game.

Lol I love how this went from a Minshew appreciation post to a “yeah, well he sucks” post.

To be fair after watching Richardson's ball placement Minshew does look far more accurate.

And that’s a wash because Richardson is already way more comfortable in the pocket.

Yeah - I watch him play and he has about the worst pocket presence I have ever seen. Bailing on entirely fine pockets to scramble around for no reason, making his linemen block for way longer, and then he fucks up the throw that had no pressure.

I think it’s the arm strength that is his permanent ceiling. Every QB makes bad plays, but when you make a bad throw and it’s going slower than my wife can throw it, its getting picked off
