Definitely a flop but wish they were actually consistent with this rule
There was definitely contact. Seemed like LeBron expected the contact to be a lot more severe and went along with it. I’d call it a flop, but nowhere near as egregious as what we’ve seen from Draymond and Kyrie just in the last couple days.
of all the flops they call this one lol
If you didn't watch the entire game and don't know the history, about 2 years ago Lebron got his first ejection where Isaiah Stewart tried to rush the Lakers with a bloody eye. All game Isaiah Stewart was trying to bully/elbow/push Lebron whenever he had the chance. Lebron never got any calls and this obvious one Lebron tried to show the refs he wasn't the aggrerssor
Shouldn't be a flop called on a charging play. They are literally changing the game at that point - it's how basketball is played. Call a foul or don't, it's so unnecessary and potentially dangerous if you're expecting people to just stand up and take the contact, make the offensive player knock them over. It's counterproductive
It’s actually bullshit. You can’t reward one player (Kyrie) for flopping one night and then punish the next (Lebron) the following night.
It's like this was their intent to legitimize the rule
Right you watch Trae, Luka, Kyrie, Shai and they’re 50x more egregious on no contact, there’s actual contact here, not enough to fall to the ground but like he’s selling contact and there is a tech. Make it make some bit of sense
He started the flop before there was contact
They have history
What year was this? Could've helped with the Lion's rushing
Oh lord I forgot all about that.
That's one of the least egregious flops, but that's the one they fucking call?
He definitely falls on purpose, but there is clear contact and he reacts to that, so it’s super mild flop. If they start calling these, fine, but call the actual horrible flops as well then.
Yeah, exactly. It's a flop, but like... there was contact, it wasn't entirely unreasonable.
Could call Embiid and Shai every other play. The damn head whiplash on every other drive.
The head jerk on no contact drives me insane.
how does taking charge work without faling down? I dont think ive seen that before
It's weird. They seem to be calling flops on defenders more often than anything.
In general, it's the blatant flopping by offensive players that gets fans up in arm. Why aren't they calling that?
Exactly. The head jerks when players drive and aren’t touched are the ones that drive me insane. LeBron flopping here is a disadvantage to himself.
I don't think there's a definitive list, but these are the 8 in-game flopping techs I know of:
They cant even be consistent with whats a foul
You wouldnt believe how many people were posting that Lebron didn't flop on ESPN's tiktok clip
It’s funny that the ref probably called this cause LeBron was getting on his nerve complaining about no calls lol
Punished him for Draymond's flop last night.
Most likely that.
Lebron pushed his luck
But people say players argue with the refs to get better calls? I don’t think it works and it’s annoying to watch as a fan.
Depends who the player is.
You ever seen that clip of the referee telling MJ "I didn't see the foul MJ but I believe you."
Josh Giddey ain't getting the "I believe you" treatment
