Three seasons ago Russell Westbrook broke the Triple doubles record, and since then Jokić had 74 triple doubles and on pace to break the record again (alien.top)

A record that was once difficult to match will probably be broken again in a year or two. It's amazing how Jokić became that dominant in the last three years.

Will Jokic ever pass Westbrook's single-season record?

Also, "a year or two" is unlikely. It'll be at least 3 years of maintaining his current epic pace. Assuming Russ doesn't get any more.

He probably could if he chased them but since he's totally content with getting sombor doubles I doubt he'll beat the single season record.

In the past 3 seasons, Nikola Jokić has had 16, 19, and 29 triple doubles, despite playing no more than 74 games in any of them. In the first 18 games of this season, he has had 7 triple doubles. Bringing his career total to 112 triple doubles.

If Jokić were to continue that pace for the rest of this season, and he were to play 74 games (his career average), he would finish this season with 29 triple doubles. Which would bring his career total to 134.

If Jokić were to continue that by matching his single-season career high of 29 triple doubles in the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 seasons, he would still be short of Russell Westbrook's record of 198 triple doubles in a career, at 192.

Considering that Jokić turns 30 in February of 2025, and that these estimates assume he maintains:

  • His extrememly high level of play
  • His health
  • AND his high quality teammates (who make getting more assists easier for him)

I think Westbrook's record will be safe until at least 2027.

Yea but there's also playoffs. And he got 10/20 in 2023.

Playoffs don't count towards the career regular season triple doubles record.

What is the 10/20 that your referencing?
