I have created two communities, but it seems like I can no longer create new ones since when attempting to create one, it gets stuck in a looping circle.

Oh, the server is under pressure. Thank you for explaining the issue.

and hoping people start signing up to other instances.

Look around at other instances to create your community on, it probably does not need to be made on the primary lemmy.ml site.

But what if there are namespace conflicts? For example, you create a community on both Lemmy and Beehaw with the same name, but wouldn't that cause conflicts?

but wouldn’t that cause conflicts?

No. There is a !gaming@lemmy.ml and a !gaming@beehaw.org.

Each community is suffixed by the instanced they are hosted in. So if the mods of one community are shitbags or the rules made a community a shit abyss, just use the same community of another instance that you feel is better.

No they would be completely unrelated. Both of those two instances already have a memes and a music community already, both completely separate.

No, because the full community name always includes the instance name too. For example, there are already both !gaming@lemmy.ml and !gaming@beehaw.org which are independent from each other.
