Big Labor is meant as a pejorative. They're drawing parallels with Big Pharma and Big Oil on purpose. Fuck the NY Times.

What I don't understand is that these journalists are workers themselves. Why are they writing this shit ?

Because they're either being pressured to by management or they're victims of their own gaslighting. Either that or they're just really bad at important parts of their job..
