I remember reading somewhere that Paramount was only going to make Star Trek shows with 3 seasons each. Stupid, stupid, Stupid!
Season five for Lower Decks was announced a long time ago.
I'd rather have tightly-written shows with 3 seasons than meandering shows that don't know how/where they're going to end with producers who are incompetent at steering things (cough Kurtzman & DIS)
Agreed. But seasons 6 and 7 of many shows are their peak.
