Correction: If they’re voting Republican, they’re united on abortion. You can be a principled objector, but the moment you cast a vote for a Republican—particularly at the national level—you are, like it or not, casting a vote for everything that the party stands for and that includes ending abortion protections.

I'm not sure that's a fair attribution. Just like we have plenty of people that reject US/Biden support of Israel but are still going to vote democrat.

I would argue it’s not the same since the entire Republican package follows the same general theme. That of hating women, LGBT, removing bodily autonomy, generally just being assholes.

Yeah the Dems a more of a union of parties than anything else and with that comes some pretty extreme levels of factionalism. Hell im waiting for a pro-firearm branch to pop up whos entire schtick is railing against the NRA, though itll probably be a bit more till then since theyd most likely come out of a rural region.

There's definitely a stuff in there that bucks the trend you're seeing. Curbing inflation, making tips tax free to aid waiters, not cutting social security or changing the retirement age and doubling the standard deduction. (source)

The policy stances you mention don't stem from them waking up in the morning and deciding to be a dick. They view the issues differently and are trying to solve different things in ways that end up being destructive to those of the other perspective.

It’s really hard to take them seriously when, on your own link, they list things like “Carry out the largest deportation in American history” and other fearmongering shit.

Then you have that whole Project 2025 plan where they want to take an axe to big business and investment taxes while passing the cost on to the average Joe.
