We live in a world that if you call someone an idiot or violate some other arbitrary rule you get banned, but if you spread dangerous lies you usually are fine and rarely see a consequence

By not treating civility as though it's some kind of unbreakable rule. It's okay to tell dickheads to stop acting like dickheads.

We could use more of that in general, I mean evaluation of the rules and their relative importance on a case-by-case basis rather than taking any one rule as an absolute or in some absolute order of priorities. Particularly when it comes to broad rules like freedom of speech or freedom of religion that might not always deserve the same priority for all cases where you could apply them.
