A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. A showerthought should offer a unique perspective on an ordinary part of life.

Rules

  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. Avoid politics

I used to think the plot of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty was absolutely bonkers until the internet became flooded with AI slop (dubvee.org)

Was getting ready this morning and the ending of MGS2 came to mind.

Plot

It states that GW was the only AI destroyed, and that the S3 Plan's real purpose is to control human thought to prevent society's regression in the digital era from trivial information drowning knowledge and truth in the belief that humanity is too immature to handle the flow of information responsibly

Though the villains in MGS2 seemed to have better intentions than the nation states / trolls that are flooding the internet today.

I have a coworker currently playing through that one now. I'm really excited for him to get to the end to see what he thinks about it considering our current circumstances.

Also: "I hear it's amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on hara-kiri rock. I need scissors! 61!"
