Thank you! And thank you for being a part of this community!

This post was reported. I think the objection would be to the second paragraph where it sounds like you are making a claim about the character of the person.

We want this to be an inviting place where people can share what they are passionate about. Everyone is free to attack each other's opinions and stances. However, there are rules against attacking individuals and groups of people.

Not only is it against the rules but there are much more effective methods of arguing. Ad hominem attacks are poor at persuasion.

Do you mind rewriting the second paragraph to focus on the arguments made in the prior comment, rather than the character of the person?

Thank you, I really appreciate the effort to tone things down.

I want people to have the freedom be passionate in their comments and posts, and I think the community rules do a good job of allow the freedom to argue passionately. The rules do aim to avoid attacks against people themselves and groups of people.

So, while toning things down is not the primary goal, when things get aggressive it's harder for everyone to avoid ad hominem attacks.

I'm happy to see improvements to Drive even if I don't use Mac.

I would love to share photo albums with friends from Proton, many of which use Signal and would find Proton compelling, but I cant.

I recently needed to make a shared account with my parents and we went with Google rather than Proton because they don't have spreadsheets yet.

This comment got reported. And while trolling is not allowed. Attacking an individual is also not allowed. So I'm not sure if attacking them for being a troll is allowed.

If you think a post is trolling (ie: just trying to stir up anger rather than trying to make an argument for something), please report it. If you think a poster is serial trolling please point it out in the report.

I'm open to feedback.

Is this just a title and a picture? Am I missing the details somewhere?

It's a key feature of Google maps that I don't have a great replacement for. I assume moderating the reviews would be a significant challenge for the project.

How do contacts work? I assume you use cheogram. Does cheogram access your phone's contacts, or does it have a separate database of contacts?

The French may not have the first democracy, may not have the best democracy, but they have had to fight harder than most for their democracy.

  • paraphrasing from an audio tour by Rick Steves, I think.

Edit: oops, i flipped words in the title

Yes, you link your OSM account to StreetComplete and it adds your contributions via your OSM account. Same with Vespucci.

When you log into OSM you can see all the contributions pushed by StreetComplete.

The devs are doing a stunning job with the app so I have no qualms.

Yeah I still can't figure out how to add a postal box in StreetComplete so I use Vespucci. But yeah Vespucci is intimidating at first

That's a great point. I probably could have worded that differently.

I first learned of Street-Complete here and I really like it.

It's satisfying to walk around, complete little tasks, and get prizes, scratching a similar itch to Pokemon Go.

Stuck waiting for someone? Add opening hours for a few local businesses.

Have a long walk ahead of you? See if you can add/check house addresses as fast as you can walk.

Want to walk off a few beers before heading home? Complete some tasks in the bar street.

Its a very constructive way to "be right" on the internet.
