I know someone in corporate McDonalds. They were pissed the instant they found out. They have a saying internally, "were not red or blue, were golden." They intentionally don't take political stances. This franchise owner acted without corporate blessing, and if I had to guess, that message was intentionally not passed up the chain.

This franchise owner acted without corporate blessing, and if I had to guess, that message was intentionally not passed up the chain.

If that is true then wouldn't that be the message?

We don't take sides, and this franchise did, so he can't be a franchise owner anymore. Sell something that isn't McDonald's.

I don't think that was their message. Their message was, "please don't be mad at us. " Like someone else said in this thread, this doesn't change my opinion of McDonald's and I already wasn't eating there. I just see their excuse as another BS reason.

That's really interesting that they don't take political stances, yet why was it such a necessity for them to go out of their way and deliver their food to IOF troops and support their work? That must have been okayed by corporate because it was on a ton of media outlets. Seems pretty political to me.

The whole situation around Israel has bipartisan support. Even if it's political, it's hard to say they're picking a side there.

And it turns out there aren't a lot of franchises in Palestine.
