Great. They can stop now, right? RIGHT?

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 18 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Their goal is the genocide of the Palestinians and annexing their land.

So no, all of Hamas could stop existing and they would go create it again.

I missed the memo on when Hezbollah started operating in Palestine.

Didn't you hear? Hezbollah is Hamas too, now! And so is all Lebanese civilians!

The list of who's Hamas according to the rhetoric and actions of Israel is currently thus:

  • Hamas
  • Fatah
  • All Palestinian civilians
  • Hezbollah
  • the Lebanese government
  • all Lebanese civilians
  • the Iranian government
  • all Iranian civilians
  • the South African government
  • all South African civilians
  • The Irish government
  • all Irish civilians
  • the UN and all sub-organizations. Especially UNRWA and UNIFIL.
  • all anti-zionists
  • all pacifists
  • the EXTREMELY Zionist Biden administration, somehow

That's cute. Hezbollah has been raining rockets down on Israel periodically for years, but this escalated after Oct 7. Israel is attacking Lebanon because of Hezbollah's actions, not Hamas.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

Hezbollah EXISTS because of Israel.

Even this time around, Israel attacked first and then called the retaliation an unprovoked attack. Just like a month or two ago when they attacked an Iranian embassy and pretended that the extremely measured response that killed zero people was the worst attack since October.

DARVO isn't just a propaganda strategy. It's the entire foreign relations philosophy of Zionism.

They still want hostages released. Ya know, the thing an executive / leader usually authorizes because they have the operational vision to see it's a good option. Oh, wait.

[–] cyborganism@lemmy.ca 12 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Haven't they (the IDF) killed whoever was left that was held by Hamas? And Hezbollah doesn't have hostages.

[–] GBU_28@lemm.ee 6 points 3 weeks ago

Sorry that was unclear,

  1. I was just drawing a line between killing leadership and seeking diplomatic terms at the same time
  2. What Israel has claimed to want
  3. Indeed I think the only hostages were with Hamas
  4. I thought a few were still unaccounted for
