I mean, the Orville is more like a comedy, not everyone is into that.

Have you watched The Expanse? That's more of what more realistic space sci-fi looks like.

Also: For All Mankind, depicting an alternate space race where the Soviets won the race to the moon, and the space race didn't end, and continued on, base on moon, maybe even expanding further into the solar system (no spoilers, you'll have to watch).

Ironically, I couldn't stand Expanse's pilot and I don't think I got past the first few episodes. It was just so slow and nap-inducing...

I also didn't like it the first watch. Then a few years later I ran out of stuff to watch and tried again. It's very confusing on who the "bad guys" are until season 2. I just google some minor spoilers and about the "bad guys" and it was enough for me to continue on watching.

Season 1, nothing really happens, it feels more like a prequel. Season 2 is when shit really begins.

Man, I wish I could just skip S1, then. If I can't then I may never see it as there is so much else out there!
