Ok, let me slow it down for you, so even an idiot like you can understand it.

Russia has a law that requires VPNs to monitor their users so that the government can see what you’re doing.

Switzerland is planning to pass a law that requires VPNs to monitor their users so that the government can see what you’re doing.

There’s a reason you’re being downvoted so much, and it’s because you’re sitting there arguing against the current laws that protect Swiss privacy in favor of stripping that privacy away so that other governments like the United States can request access to the data, all because you don’t like some CEO because he liked one of Trumps picks.

You're forgetting, or more likely are probably too stupid to realize that the Swiss passing this law benefits Trump, and by extension Trumps masters in the Kremlin.

Only one of us is rooting for the Russians, and if you want to figure out who it is, look in the damn mirror you idiot.

Let me slow it down for you even more. Proton is a bullshit corporation trying to get more business. The Swedish officials recognize a ton of felonious activities are taking place on platforms that use privacy as a selling point.

They are not fucking Russia and similar laws have little to do with anything as the two share a shit ton of similar laws already.

Proton is using half assed propaganda to try and get more businesses. This is the grandstanding. Threatening to pack up and leave is fucking ridiculous. It is like you can't help your bootlicking when you hear garbage like this.

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The sheer fucking irony of a liberal bitching about bootlickers while arguing in favor of a surveillance state.

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world -2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

See, this is how dumb you are acting. Proton already willing cooperates with governments. You are the definition of stooge.

The sheer irony of someone who doesn't even understand the definition of liberalism and acts like everyone who believes in equality and the rule of law is suddenly a Neolib all the while being a corporate apologist is pretty rich.

I got downvoted talking shit about Elon for several years. You think I care about what a bunch of wanna be edgelords technocrats who don't know jack shit think about my opinions!?

Please grow a brain cell and stop falling for this propaganda designed to make a corporation more money bullshit. You are better than this.

Says the person stanning the fucking government.

I think privacy should be enshrined in the constitution so no law like this could be constitutional.

On another note, If you can't trust the Switzerland government who the fuck can you trust? Oh yes your pRiVaTe corporate overlords. Produmb!

Not only don’t you read the article, you can’t figure out what you believe because you’re making it up on the spot based on nothing more than “Andy Yen bad”.

There’s no point arguing with you, because you aren’t even consistent enough to maintain your viewpoint across a few posts. Just save us both the trouble and go back to the vibe-based, pumpkin spiced reality you’ve built where minorities all agree with libs and the government are the good guys.

Never even mentioned that loser. The amount of mental gymnastics you must do is amazing.

I was just telling you my opinion based on reality. You should try it some time if you can stop sucking on the teets of your technocrat sugar daddies.

I should have been clearer for my corporate loving edgelords. Privacy and the expectations for it should be spelled out in the constitution as Switzerland, USA, and even Russia already contain something about privacy.

This is no longer adequate for our modern lives and it is being dutifully ignored by every major country. This conversation becomes very complex because there are of course limits to this right and there should be good debate and further amendments to our laws to protect individuals from corporations.

The expectation that "government bad" is just more propaganda pushed by corporations to enrich themselves.

Proton is not recognizing any of this and instead we get bombastic "they are just like Russia" and "We are taking our toys and leaving".

Here you are, the corporate apologist here to explain and spin what they said. If you get anything from this, please open your fucking eyes to reality because your head is pretty deep at this point. Cheers!

Lmao

Waiting for the alternative to government edgelords...

I saw a quote from someone who read the article.

"If this passes and Produmb doesn't leave, I will"

I may have to paraphrased that a little for clarity.

Oh no, your favorite corporation might get enshittified! You mean the same thing that happens in every corporation? Not Produmb though they are different!

You don't know shit about Switzerland or their government. The poorly translated French article said it was a "damming comparison to Russia".

It is not damming, it is fucking stupid and so are you for buying into this corporate propaganda designed to keep and increase their user base.

The fact that you see a government as corrupt but Produmb as some pure entity of goodwill shows just how gullible you are. I actually feel kind of bad for you at this point.
