Stop eating at fast food places
This is why normal people don't believe in or want to listen to anything about climate change. Lets blame the corpos for forcing us to use disposable junk, and not the people who want a quick meal once a week.
By all means. But chain restaraunts are owned by the corpos. If you want to take power from the corpos you need to stop giving them your money.
I mean, the flour and eggs you buy to cook at home also come from corpos. I have a garden but there's no way it could sustain someone without also using grocery.
Well King Arthur, the flour company, is employee owned.
We're stuck between a rock and a hard place with a bad system but there are choices we can make about how fully it controls us.
Fast food is defined by not having table service and being more intended for carryout than dine in eating. So either you're asking for a system that relies on fast food restaurants to provide reusable equipment and that demands diners come back just to return it, or you're gonna have to find another business model to support. It's not about blame, that's just how the entire business model works, and if a person wants not to support it, they have to make individual decisions not to do so...
That's how fast food works though. Using non-disposable plates, cups, etc. for takeout would be impractical unless it's strictly "bring your own". The industry requires waste.
Quick? Have you been a to fast food joint recently.
Chipotle is faster than traditional slop every single time. Minimal waste and costs same.
