Just making a thread for those who watched the game/series/playoffs.

Unbelievable Aces team, a bit speechless, congratulations to the presumptive Finals MVP A'ja Wilson

I can't fucking stand the common "who cares" attitude about posts like this. I'm happy there's one here, I wanted to see what people in the NBA subreddit were saying about the WNBA finals, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that Breanna Stewart really laid an egg.

I’ll wholeheartedly admit that I found it very funny back when the WNBA and its players/teams were being actively hostile and accusatory even to those supporting the league (the infamous Luka ROTY congratulations video), but the league has strayed away from that for what I believe to be the better. They’re now promoting the product not based on “you’re an evil sexist if you don’t watch it”, but rather based on the talent, storylines, and rivalries they’re building organically. I hope they keep going in this direction cause more basketball is better for everyone.

I think a lot of that was a natural, bitter response to the very real sexism they face. Some of the ESPN Twitter post and community posts on YT are fucking brutal. Like legitimately disgusting in its bigotry. Bold faced misogyny, don't even try to hide it. I don't blame them for being bitter about it.

What they have now is built on everything that has been accomplished to this point. They were fighting for recognition. It didn't look pretty but fighting isn't always pretty.

Now they're ascending and I'm honestly shocked at how well they handle the bullshit. They handle unwarranted criticism better than a lot of NBA players lmao

It's sexist boys who are insecure so they constantly feel the need to put down women's sports. If they actually watched the game they wouldbe had a lot of fun bc it was wild

Imagine being this pressed over people not watching women's basketball

It's a shitty product, lol .

Just because they don't share the same interests as you doesn't mean it's sexist 😆.

Different sport, but I play coed soccer and all the girls I play with played in college. Really makes you appreciate how technical and skilled they are compared to most guys and it makes it more fun to play. A lot of the nba players really seem to appreciate the women’s game due to similar reasons even if the casuals claim it’s boring.

Nah, all these wnba threads read so weird. It's like a paid advertisement. Everyone in the comments are trying to sell the league. You guys get paid for this?

[–] Bleoox@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (1 children)

Getting paid to enjoy women's basketball? Where do I sign up?

[–] ExtremeGamingFetish@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

People enjoy gleague. Don't see comments in those threads focusing on telling people to watch it or saying this is the best basketball I've seen since.. lol

Instead this is just a humorless thread where redditors take negative comments personally.

Its exciting to see a game grow. Women league has been dogged on for decades, god forbid we cheer for it.

It was a really exciting game.

/r/nba is content with posts about the same topic over and over and complain in the comments about how people keep posting the same thing over and over.
