For the second time in Golden Knights history!
NBA - Main
Game analysis, highlights and everything else that is happening in the NBA.
I watched the Liberty all season, even in-person a couple times. The main problem is the bench. People love Johannes's flashy game, but the bench was basically unplayable in this series and the starters were understandably gassed.
Hamon should have been an NBA coach
aja wilson is just on another level
Becky is an incredible coach and the Aces defense won them this game in the end. They're the best team in WNBA in all three phases. I think a superteam like this is great for the WNBA and poses a great challenge for other teams to reach. Congrats to the Aces yet again.
Soo much side eye during this game.
Man, it’s so Brooklyn basketball to sign and assemble another super team only to have the leader of that team win an mvp and then put up her best Embiid impression when it matters 🫠 I just want a championship parade in NY ☹️
At least they actually made the Finals🤷♂️
Now this is r/lostredditors
Yawwnnn
At least this means no more "please watch the wnba its really good i promise" posts for a while...
What is it with dudes on this sub that have to comment on how much they don't care about the WNBA. I see a Kyle Kuzma thread I don't go in there and talk about how much I don't care about Kuz, I just skip it.
Becky Hammon looks poised to become a dynastic head coach.
If Becky comes out of this series learning to sometimes trust the bench then she will actually conquer the planet
Nah, Becky’s bench sucks. 😂 they didn’t with Candace Parker - but the rest of them do.
WNBA has a hard cap. The Aces have ridiculous talent they have to pay, and that leaves almost nothing for the rest of them.
I’d take her back as Pop’s successor. She’s been successful everywhere she’s been, she’s an amazing coach
knicks season ended on an airball and now the liberty lol cruel
IMAGINE.
Being in the finals, being the number 2 seed, taking on the champs who are missing two starters, and still being unable to get a must win W on your home floor. The salt levels have to be through the roof for the Liberty. That's the type of loss that will stay with you forever.
Turns out that it’s still pretty hard to win the finals against a generationally good team even with one or more of their starters out… (I’m thinking of 2019 NBA finals).
That last procession was so sad. They were so fucking close. Literally .5 more seconds and that putback wins them the game (except A'ja would have probably got it let's be real)
That possession was dumb in general. Down 1 with like 16? no time out until like 8? Then you get a 1v1 with the mvp and don’t have her take a shot? instead run the clock and take a contested 3?
Quick shot from Stewart there is a great possession.
Airball 3 for the win lmao. The wnba jokes just write themselves
The tale of that Liberty run was Stewart going cold, its how the Sun took a game off them
A'ja Wilson y'all
I can't fucking stand the common "who cares" attitude about posts like this. I'm happy there's one here, I wanted to see what people in the NBA subreddit were saying about the WNBA finals, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that Breanna Stewart really laid an egg.
/r/nba is content with posts about the same topic over and over and complain in the comments about how people keep posting the same thing over and over.
It's sexist boys who are insecure so they constantly feel the need to put down women's sports. If they actually watched the game they wouldbe had a lot of fun bc it was wild
I’ll wholeheartedly admit that I found it very funny back when the WNBA and its players/teams were being actively hostile and accusatory even to those supporting the league (the infamous Luka ROTY congratulations video), but the league has strayed away from that for what I believe to be the better. They’re now promoting the product not based on “you’re an evil sexist if you don’t watch it”, but rather based on the talent, storylines, and rivalries they’re building organically. I hope they keep going in this direction cause more basketball is better for everyone.
Absolutely insane game
A'ja is unbelievable
Courtney VanderSELL
Aja the real MVP !
seriously, I feel like A'Ja wilson is people think Brenna Stewart is.
they had the entire playoffs and finals and yet nobody knew
You not knowing does not = nobody knowing. Far from it, in fact.
New York Basketball Curse Continues
Man, the fact that there're a bunch of Andrew-Tate-ass, insecure knob goblins who needed to jump into a thread about the WNBA finals so that they could tell us how much they're not interested or don't care about the game makes me laugh. Neckbeard nephews can't even let a post about a damn good finals breathe out here without whinging about women playing the game.
A'ja Wilson is TOO GOOD!
R/wnba
If you've never seen a WNBA game before. Start with this one.
An instant classic!
Elite drunk post game press conference is in progress
Dynasty.
Vandersloot waits and trains her whole life for a moment like that and… ends about how you’d expect
How they had 2 fucking games in the middle of NFL Sunday was just insane lol. Luckily this upcoming draft class is stacked with stars and talent Caitlin, Reese, Bueckers, Van Lilith, and Brink all can be hugeeeee stars for their teams
It’s basketball. WNBA isn’t any different. Chances are 1 or 2 of those will be good in the WNBA
Wrong sub
Really thought the Liberty were gonna gut this one out at the end, man. Was looking forward to a win-or-go-home game 5, but credit to the Aces for pulling through despite the injuries
To compare it to an NBA game, it’s like when Warriors lost KD and Klay in the finals and had to rely on their end of bench pieces for help, except the Aces were actually able to pull through. Aces had to rely on 2 different players who barely gets any regular season playing time to open and close the game and I’m so happy they actually won.
Aces clinched the dallas series the same way - junked that shit up and even if it aint pretty they still find a way - and without 2 starters including my fav Chelsea Gray - i dunno this one kinda sweeter
We got a shadynasty in the making
That final play left something to be desired...some of the blame goes to Sandy
