Despite his defensive shortcomings, he’s shown elite shotmaking in the playoffs and is only 24. In my opinion, his ceiling is enormous. I can’t understand why people are praising the Warriors trading him for a 38 year old CP3.

Look: we all saw what Jordan was capable of in '22. However, we all saw all of what Jordan was capable of:

Elite scoring, although not really in the flow with other guys. Questionable decision-making even when he was scoring well. A guy whose defensive limitations, when paired with Steph, meant that despite shooting the heck out of the ball, he was someone Kerr struggled to find minutes for.

If he builds on that, then he's a top-10 offensive player in the league. He's potentially that good.

On the other hand, he regressed hard last year. The defensive and ball handling lapses got worse. The scoring went from borderline elite to "he's just chucking up shots."

So, you know, yeah, if we call last year a wash and this year is building off '22, yes, 100%, Washington got a steal: a guy who can be your #1 scorer for a guy they never planned on keeping.

But let's maybe wait until we see it. Even before the '22 playoffs, there was some chatter in Warrior circles: "Is Poole this good, is he just coming off a nice long hot streak?"
